rev1 tubby TBAR - 56,000 miles!

Post by dellams »

ABS, Electric Windows/Mirrors, electrical retracting mirrors, TBAR convertible, 2.0i twin entry turbo putting out about 230bhp! This is a seriously fast car!

Mods:
Border style bodykit attracts a lot of attention, real head turner!
Twin Exist Exhaust, nice burbly sound but not too loud like some!
16" Dezent alloys all round.
Performance Toyo Proxies T1Rs all round.
HKS SSQV Dump Valve
HKS Fuel Cut Defender
HKS Speed Cut Defender
Blitz Turbo Timer
Laserline Cat1 Alarm & Immobiliser with remote arming incs FOB.
Manual Boost Controller running at 14psi Boost Gauge
Aftermarket Racing Steering Wheel
New Genuine Italian Red Leather Stitched Gearknob Gaitor.
Clear/crystal front indicators.

Replaced in last few months:
Alternator
Throttle Cable
Steering rack
HT Leads
Spark Plugs
Oil Change
Alternator belt
Dizzy cap
Rotor arms
New front brake discs/pads
Front Calliper
Plenty more, been told by garage (AP Motors - Jap Import Specialist) that all the common things to go on these cars has now been done so will not need any more work doing!

Cam done last year at around 44k miles
Oil has been changed every 3k miles.
Coolant flushed and changed in last couple of months.

I have always used VPower 99 ron fuel – nothing but the best for this car!

Bodywork in overall good condition, no signs of rust. Rare darker red – looks better than the more common super red which I think sometimes looks tacky in my opinion.

Car was imported in 99 at 30,000 miles and I am only the 2nd UK owner. When I bought the car it only had 32k miles on it! This car has been really cared for and has always been warmed up before using the turbo and had a full 5 mins to cool down.

This is the deluxe model so has all the mod cons such as Aircon, etc as well as updated sound system including a sub under the passenger chair.

MOT Nov 09
Taxed Dec 08

Been cared for and has very low millage. hundreds of receipts, no expense has been spared on this car, plenty of work done such as new alternator, throttle cable, etc.

Sailed through every MOT, not one bit of rust, bodywork is in overall good condition too. Hope she goes to a new home and is cared for as much as I have.

First come first serve, no canvassers please, needs to bring insurance certificate if they wish to test drive. Not for the in-experienced driver! This is a RWD car with the engine behind your head, a lot of fun to drive and handles like a dream, drives like it’s on rails. Engine is 230bhp but puts down 210 at the wheels. I have dyno printout to prove this power too. Will get this scanned and posted up. For an idea on comparison my mates Scooby puts out 240bhp engine but only manages 170bhp at the wheels due to the transmission lost to the 4WD system!

It got 9.1 seconds on the 1/8 mile drag strip in Honiton matching and sometimes beating my mates Evo 8! It has only been taken to the drag strip once so has not been abused, no clutch slippage, etc, everything all still really healthy.

Was told by the Jap Import Specialist (AP Motors) garage that it was one of the healthiest MR2’s they had seen for its age along with the engine.

Boosts fine, no smoke or rattles.

Viewing is highly recommend, pictures don’t do it justice!

First come first serve, no canvassers please, needs to bring insurance certificate if they wish to test drive. Not for the in-experienced driver! No time wasters or tire kickers please.

Any questions please feel free to ask. Be sorry to see her go, just hope she goes to a good home.

Looking for 1,699 ono.

Thanks for looking.

Jeez! Thats not good! :( This bleedin credit crunch rubbish is beginning to get on my boobs! :(

Yeah and the pics dont do her justice, looks a lot better in the flesh so to speak. But thanks for the kind words mate. :)

Good luck with the sale mate. Not sure what to do since if I hold on I dont know how long it would take till they start selling again? Maybe a couple of years depending how long this recession rubbish is going to last I guess? :(

oh and another thing. Try and get it an extra 12 months MOT. Your going to be losing a few hundred punds by selling with a very very short mot. People will always feel much happier buying a car with a long mot.

And atleast with the credit crunch, if your selling to buy something else then whatever you buy is going to be cheaper than it should be aswell.

Yeah its already got a full MOT on there, cant remember if I mentioned that on here though?

Problem is I have already bought my new car but didnt get it any cheaper and got stiched up since needed 1.3k spending just to get it through the MOT! Theres still more work to be done on it too! :( Oh well, I guess thats life!

Cheers.

Been trying and trying to put my car on poo bay but im not getting anywhere! They keep insisting on calling a landline to confirm my id, I gave my home landline number but they never call!!! ](*,)

I dont have a work landline number but my colleague next to me does so given that and still no call! Has anyone else had problems like this? I cant beleive it can be this hard to stick a car on there! I even tried clicking the link saying confirm my id another way but that just takes me in a loop and back to the same screen! :(

I have re-created my listing countless times now since even the save doesnt seem to work! Arghhhhhh! #-o

Im tempted to get someone else to list it using their account where they are trusted enough to be a seller!

Cheers.

Apart from the Speedo clocks, have you got any proof/paperwork to backup the 56,000 miles claim?

Yeah I have the original import documentation showing it has 32,000 miles when it was first imported although it shows it in km somewhere in the 50 region.

Also have it on the MOT certificates and I think it may be on the logbook too but will need to double check all of that tonight.

Cheers.
