Sadly I can better your claim to the geek throne- I imported FF6
(known as FF3 at time of launch in the US) for
£70
(thats a lot of pocket money back in 1994) when it came out in the US as it wasn't released in Europe.

Me and my dad must have played that game through about ten times between us- even better than FF7 IMO though obviously it has more nostalgia value for me!
I also bought FF1- FF6 again for the PS1 when they re-released them.
