where does the extra bhp come from in the later models?

a different engine all together in the rev 3's onwards and the red top beams engine :thumleft: :thumleft: :thumleft:

around 1996 the N/A engine was changed to a high compression engine making 176bhp this was short lived as in 97 the engine was detuned to 168bhp to keep inline with emmission laws. After this came the legendary BEAMS vvti engine, this is rarer than rocking horse s**t.

Major changes to the head design at revision 3 were the primary factor. Later engines lost around four horsepower due to the addition of exhaust gas recirculation (on UK engines only) to meet emissions legislation.

and they moved the power band up using the cams
