Lukes weekly helpful hint

Post by Driftlimits Performance »

Ok, so there are a lot of you that have rattley windows. This is SERIOUSLY annoying!!

Especially when the window is half down.

I'd heard of people bending the brackets etc, but it's a simple cost free fix, without replacing the bushes.

First remove the door cards. (Taking note of my last post about not breaking the door control panel!)

It's reeeaaally simple. There are 2 brackets that prop the window, each with a small furry coating if you will. Undo the bolt slightly, and move the bracket further towards the window, then, do said bolt up again. And hey presto, the bush sits closer to the window. If needed, file holes to move the bushes further out.

If you've moved them LOTS, then you may have an ickle problem getting the door cards back on. In this case, bend slightly the top of the bracket, where the door card sits.

Hope this helps some people now the summer is nigh on upon us!

Luke,

Excellent tip.

How about a picture how-to including getting the door card off?

Bit of a Naff tip Luke. :shaking2: ;-)

It will stop rattle. done it myself. But then you get outside noise appearing as the window is pushed forward. A gap is now appearing (not pressed up to the rubber seal any more.

I put mine back a little. Wish there was a specialist to take the door apart and re-weld them brackets back on inside!!
