Black Rev 3 Turbo for sale - PRICE REDUCTION now 3k!

Post by razi-islam »

As my R32 GTR engine rebuild and general overhaul is nearing completion its time to sell the mr2 turbo to pay for some bills! and also i dont need 2 cars.

Ive had it for a few months now and its been a brilliant car. Ive not even done 1000 miles on it since owning it. Its my 4th mr2 turbo now and they are so much fun but my GTR is top dog for me....perhaps might get another in the summer :)

Anyway the spec of the car:

Rev 3 Turbo
Tin Top with c.71k on the clock
7 months MOT
6 months TAX

After I bought the car it had an oil change + new filter & some new brake pads.

I have both Japanese and English service history for the car. And I also have receipts for most of the work on the car aswell as receipts for the aftermarket bits on the car.

It has a 3" bore Blitz Exhaust with a 3" bore downpipe.
HKS Induction Kit
HKS SQV Dump Valve
XS Power Intercooler w/ hardpipes
Spal Fan
SBITS Adjustable Drop Links
xxxx Boost Controller (set a 1.2bar)

Momo Steering Wheel
Momo Gear Knob
Momo Gaiter + Carbon Surround

Also comes with Kenwood Components and a Kenwood Mini Disk Player.

The car also has a Cobra CAT 1 Alarm and Immobiliser.

Pictures can be found here:
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/673451.htm

Im after £3250 or near offer.

Cheers

Raz

I can vouch for this one. It's really nice condition and pulls very strongly. Someone is going to get a bargain!

Before writing this I have contacted an imoc moderator to check it was ok to post...permission was granted so here it is...

I am not trying to cause problems/arguments, just trying to potentially save someones time...It makes no difference to me the future of this car as we've found another one we're going to see on friday, but if I can save anybody else the hassle then its worth that much at least...

This car is also advertised on pistonheads...

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/673451.htm

I've been helping a friend search for a rev3 mr2 turbo over the last couple of days and came across this example, price was good, nice colour, spec, mileage, so gave the guy a call...

we called him, pre-negotiated a price, and he told us that the car drove perfectly, no major mechanical issues...asked him numerous times if there was anything we should know before comitting to the drive down...he mentioned a faulty drivers side window which was fine, we took this into consideration with our offer and were happy to get this fixed after purchasing the car...anyway...

a 300 mile, 6 hour round trip, and £45 of petrol later, we'd seen the car...

i've owned/driven daily 4 rev3 mr2 turbos over the last 18 months...

- my current black tom's rev3 turbo (driven daily)
- my previous SMG rev3 turbo (driven daily)
- test drove a rev3 turbo rogue had for sale
- test drove a blue rev3 turbo another member in nottingham had for sale

I'm no expert mechanic but what i'm getting at is...i know how these cars are meant to pull...

This example doesnt even start boosting untill 5500rpm! probably as much power a non turbo mr2 up till then...something is very majorly wrong with this car! ...really very disappointed...not at the car...but the seller's dishonesty...i could understand if he didn't know anything about the car and thought the engine was normal but he has owned several mr2 turbos...yet he persisted to tell us that this is how the car was supposed to drive

Icing on the cake...

...the v5 registration document is not in his name. It is still in the previous owner's name, even though he's had the car since april...The reason given for this was that a buyer came down to buy the car and changed his mind? Didn't really add up to me...

This car has had 9 owners in 5 years since its been in the uk...I'm inclined to believe he didnt send off the v5 so that it wouldnt add another owner onto the list...a name had clearly been tipexed off the v5...Perhaps he wrote his name down to buy the car? Then tipexed it of afterwards? This is in no way conclusive but I am strongly inclined to believe this is the case

We have no hard feelings...this kinda thing is expected with buying second hand cars i guess, but i would like to warn other future buyers before they sacrifice their time/effort/petrol to go and see this car as we did...If you require any further information, send me a PM

Thanks for listening :thumleft:

well well well this is a nice surprise.

ok thanks to the moderator for contacting me.

bit shocked really to see this..ive been a part of this forum a long time and sold 3 previous mr2s and ive never heard a complaint or any complaints about anything ive sold in the past.

some interesting claims above....let us put this into context...this is coming from a chap who decided hes going to check the spark plugs whilt inspecting the car. so what does he do? get a ratchet and a 12mm socket and tries to take the spark plug out? ok then.

then after driving the car decides to check the water whilst its been hot so it gushes out...some good knowledge being shown here.

and now I have a boost problem with the car? I AM HAPPY FOR ANY IMOC MEMBER TO COME TO MY HOUSE OR IF ANY ONE IS LOCAL I WILL GO TO THERES AND TAKE THEM FOR A SPIN IN THE CAR AND SHOW THEM THAT THIS CAR BOOSTS FINE.

If you would like to take me up on that opportunity please PM me. I wont have my name tarnished like this when the car boosts fine.

And with regards to the log book if everyone must know I lost my job about a week after buying the mr2 and have been trying to sell it since. So i couldnt afford to wait so long to receive a log book. and ive already had a few time wasters.

Once again if anyone in southend wants to be taken for a spin I can take them out and they can say whether or not the car boosts.

Cheers for your time.

so what...i've never changed a spark plug before? this thread is not about my mechanical skills...its about the car you have for sale...i learn things as i do them...and like i said...i'm no mechanic...but i HAVE driven several of these cars...5 rev3 turbos now including the one my mate just bought...yours is way way way off the mark

oh...and if the car drove fine...why would we have wasted a 300 mile round trip?? lol...doesn't quite add up does it? we went and bought another rev3 turbo 2 days afterwards in the end, from an honest seller

like i said, all my post was in no way personal...if you want to get personal then you go ahead, its not worth my time going down to your level...all i'm trying to do is help out other people who will potentially have their time wasted

i really hope someone who lives local will go and see this car :) ...i really do...but if your more than 5 miles away please don't waste your time as we did

job or no job, no excuse!...the logbook should be in your name..you should never buy a car from someone if the log book isn't in their name...full stop...you really don't have a leg to stand on...

you couldn't afford to wait for the log book? so in your entire ownership... was it 3 months? or more? i can't remember...dvla didn't send you a new logbook? ok

and i don't know what you mean by suprise? you should have been fully expecting this thread, as everything i said above...i said to you in person
