Hi chaps,
I'm trying to get a wheel off my old mr2 to put on my current one but when I sold my other car a few months back I gave the guy the wheel nut remover for these wheels by mistake and have no way of contacting him now as he is abroad.
As you can see I have tried welding on a nut and twisting it off that way but my welder is rubbish and my welding skills are even worse so I've given up on that.
So....if anyone here has a remover that will fit and can lend me it for one day and can get it to me by thursday I will send you a tenner for your kindness and I will also return the remover the day after.
Please please please someone say they have one!!

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] £10 to whoever can lend me this lock nut remover...
i think thay are all slightly different paterns on them lock nuts wouldnt make just the one otherwise car thieves would just buy a set for the key and nick your wheels, as for welding on a nut to it looks like you have no gas in your welder or its a gasless mig which really are quite xxxx i used to be a welder lots of guys have used these if it helps you matey

Re: [Mk2] [Generic] £10 to whoever can lend me this lock nut remover...
I've no idea what the wheels are called sorry mate.
Re: [Mk2] [Generic] £10 to whoever can lend me this lock nut remover...
you wont get another one like it mate, they are all different patterns,
just get stucvk in there, either chizel it out or undo all the other muts, then prize the wheel from the furthest point of the nut. this shold slowly stretch and loosed up the stud.
it will be easier to get out then
simmo

Yea that's them. They came on one of my old mr2s but are a bit scratched now. I thought they were cheapo crapy wheels but I liked them because they were nice and light on the road.
Re: [Mk2] [Generic] £10 to whoever can lend me this lock nut remover...
The problem with taking it to a garage is that the wheel is attached to the hub which is attached to the subframe which is attached to nothing lol. When I sold the engine I had to remove the subframe with hub and wheel still attached because I didn't have the lock nut key. So I can't get the whole lot down to my garage unfortunately.
Re: [Mk2] [Generic] £10 to whoever can lend me this lock nut remover...
i just like the design and you used to be able to get them in staggered fitment. They're quite soft and do buckle easy.
BK have a similar one but not in staggered.

How do these work for removing any type of lock nut keys mate?
Re: [Mk2] [Generic] £10 to whoever can lend me this lock nut remover...
Hi buddy,
A Ford dealer will have a key for this !.
Thats the same as all the fords use and the master sets are brilliant !.
Will see if my friend at ford can lend me the set to send you.
Otherwise if your in the AA/Rac , give them a call and they have the tool to remove it.
Larry.

When I bought my '2 it had locking nuts on it. The dealer had done them up so tight that when I tried to take them off one of them sheared, leaving half the nut on the stud. I got some good drill bits and started off really small and gradually worked my way up the sizes, eventually I was able to get a small chisel in there, split the nut and get the wheel off. PITA admittedly but apart from knackering the stud which needed replacing, the wheel was fine.
Just a thought.

Mate that would be fantastic!!! Thanks!
If only I was a mamber of one of those companies but sadly not . I didn't realise they had master sets and stuff like that. I should have joined at Christmas when I was thinking about it!

I had a go at drilling but my drill bits wouldn't even make a little hole. I tried 3 different kinds of bit but I'm guessing none of them were for metal. I don't care if I kill the stud as it's going in the bin anyway. I just need the wheel off somehow
Re: [Mk2] [Generic] £10 to whoever can lend me this lock nut remover...
my friend came to me a while ago to get a locking wheel nut off his gto... all i did was hammer a socket over the nut and got it undone with a breaker bar...
try that... the socket will come off every now and then, just hammer it further on and eventualy u will get there
