Partly due to the fact that someone had attempted to
"fix" the broken one, and filled the hose with glue. Once I managed to get it out, remove the excess glue, and fit the new one, I took it out for a blast.
The turbo sounds better, you can really hear the whistle now,
and as Tiny said the dump is a lot crisper
It may be psychological, but it seems to accelerate a lot better too!
Also got IMOC discount in Toyota
(15%) and a couple of sump washers thrown in 
I should have worked out the mpg before replacing it, but it can only make an improvement)
