

Personally I would never touch another momo gearnob as long as I live.

I bought the

'famous' ball type one for my MR2, I think it cost me

£40 or thereabouts.

5 months later the

'chrome' had completely flaked off revealing a dull metal ball of roughly brown/brass look.

It was frankly terrible, it was just chrome paint and I've not got super acidic hands or anything

(quite dry actually) but the damn thing just gave up it's coating after so little use.

And my momo millennium wheel, while much much better

(main chrome on centre is still ok) shows

'rust spots' and minor flaking on the 4 small

'chrome' bits that clip around the leather wheel part.

I like the short shift one looks and feel wise up above but if the finish comes off as easy as the momo one did then I'd not bother.

And btw I love the std mk1 nob, it felt much better than the momo ball did once I put it back on and realised which side my bread was buttered.
