Not forgetting "Metal Gear" and "Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake" on the MSX (which was something to do with Microsoft), also the PC release of Metal Gear Solid and MGS Substance and Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes on the Game Cube , of course.

I'm an MGS fan myself and it's the reason I got a PS3.

Now I don't mean to start and arguement here and I am in no way biast because I absolutely love both MGS and GOW but...

Gear's has cut scenes too, some of them quite long. And it may just be me but I like shooting people a lot etc but I also like a good story and one of the reasons that bothMGS and GOW are so popular is their story, I know with GOW it's what drew me to it.

Therefore to help the story along you have the cutscenes.

I like them personally, gives your fingers a 5-10 min break and also give you the chance to swipe the sweat from your hands and the controller lol

Just my opinion

I agree mate. I also like in game cut-scenes as it adds to the story and over game....but then there is taking the p*ss!

From last experience though, IE: the last 3 Metal Gear games the only cutscenes that have been longer than 10 minutes is the one right at the end once you've completed the game. That one you don't mind as it gives you something to enjoy after all your hours of labour.

I reckon all this "yeah there's 2 90min cut scenes in MGS4" or "yeah all the cutscenes are about half hour long" stuff is a tad over-exagerated. Hideo Kojima and his team wouldn't make them too long as you do long for gameplay after a while. I can't imagine MGS4 being any different to the last 3:

One large cutscene to layout the plot of the game at the beginning, loads of small 10minute ones mid game then one huge one at the end...thats the usual MGS receipe anyways

just done a bike chase with big mama (eva for ne1 whose played number 3) that was awsome it was like an interative cut scene where it showed u escaping on the bike with some cool camera angles but as soon as u press aim it turns back to the game and when u release aim it goes back to the cut scene style.

im lovin this, think im slightly addicted. i stayed at my "lady friend"s house last night n woke up at 5am said i couldnt sleep n left.... first thing i did when i got bk? tie up my bandana and wop out my solid snake   :thumleft:

I heard it was 100% cut scenes, my friend's Dad said he saw it once and it had a 29 hour cut scene and he couldn't skip it and he died whilst watching it but then he turned his 360 on and rose from the dead because GOW was so brilliant. GO 360! GEARS OF WAR! LOLLZ! NOW WE'RE TALKING HAHA!

just finished it, the last cut scene must be the 90min one althought there are credits in between so they make up some of that time.
the cut scene explains a hell of alot tho!
and god damn that game was awsome, time to start it again me thinks :thumleft:

Might have to give it a whirl, then, still plodding through GTA at the mo though, wouldn't hurt to mix it up a little I guess ;)
