[Mk2] [Turbo] ct20b and decat fitted to a MK2 Rev2

Post by solmansoft »

Just had a CT20b fitted to my rev 2 with a decat pipe.

The garage didn't know what to do with my cat senor, so wired it directly to my aftermarket Exhaust Gas Temp sensor!

strangely enough this doesn't do much.

So 2 questions:

1. What should I do with the Cat Temp Sensor to get the light to go out?

2. With the CT20b I was boosting to .93 bar, then got 1.06 bar and the engine management light came on. Now it won't go past 0.16 bar before juddering (is this the fuel cut), and do I just install then fuel cut defender and reset the ECU (by removing the fuse)?

i just unplugged my cat temp sensor, cant recall a light comming on.
youl be over boosting so youl need a fuel cut defencer, basically on a rev1-2 if you go over 1bar it will put your engine into safety mode via the ecu, you need to get a fcd to fool the ecu its not overboosting.
to reset the ecu either disconect the battery or remove the efi fuse.
i wouldndt advise driving it if its in safe mode as the ecu will be cutting fuel to the engine.

Right,

I've fitted and FCD today, reset the ecu and it's peaked at 1.09 bar. With no safety mode! :D

Also fitted and Exhaust Gas Temp Sensor, which seems to be working fine.

Just pulled onto the drive and appear to have a wet patch on the ground under the transmission area, not sure if its oil or not though!

The turbo looks dry all over, and so does the engine bay, can't see any oil, so not sure where the wet patch has come from.

In the morning I will check the oil and water levels (as its just had an oil and coolant change - with new radiator).
