Sure the handling simulation is a bit arcadey, though if you use a joypad you deserve what you get i guess.
It works well with the wheel (these settings only display if you have a wheel connected).... yes you can saw at the wheel and get away with it. But, the most important thing, the racing is good and close, just like it always was and that key ingredient is what has always make Toca.
This is what separates it from GT5, its just a feeling of getting stuck in there. I like it lots.
Of course i did try it with the great unwashed in quick race mode and sure enough after getting up to 3rd, somebody used me as an emergency brake and shunted me so badly up the ar$e that my windscreen popped out!
Not long thereafter I was t-boned and shafted just about everywhere, cue the car crabbing down the road, steering wheel completely out of alignment
(thought that was cool as i've had that situation in a real race before)... made the car a bu88er to drive.2nd attempt at a 7 lap race online in the beemer and I fared slightly better, got up to 3rd, then made a few mistakes, hit someone who span out in front of me etc.
.. made 5th.. had a good consistent race and kept the car vaguely in one piece.Actually i can't wait till the full game comes out.
PS2 games look NOTHING like this!
