Right, bit of an update

& progress report.

I originally wanted to mount the amp behind the drivers seat, but it's such a small place to put the amp

I struggled about behind the drivers seat for the best part of an hour

& then I gave up

So I resorted to placing the amp in the frunk.

Now I had to decide to keep the spare wheel or not.

If I did keep it, I would have to design it so if I needed to get to the wheel, it would come out with ease.

The spare wheel went in the end

& in place is this.

It's not wired up yet, but you get the idea.

I'm not too happy with the semi-circle bit of material above the amp as it's just kind of sitting there so I can have easy access to the battery.

I've taken the stock tweeters out

& thought

'Great.

I can use the stock tweeter mounting brackets for my new tweerers'.

Oh how wrong was I.

But the new tweeters slotted nicely into the covers with a bit of modification to the covers themselves.

A bit of sanding down to the 6 plactic sections protuding from the outer edge of the tweeter cover saw the new tweeters snugly home.

I've put a bit of glue in there just in case, but it's pretty secure.

I stuck left over trimmings of Dynamat to the rear of the tweeters.

Not too sure if this will have any effect whatsoever, but, what the heck.

Live dangerously I say
Trimmed tweeter covers

Not a bad fit if I do say so myself

Now onto the doors.

I bought another roll of Dynamat

& covered the areas directly behind the door speakers

& along the rest of the door itself.

I had to knock up a couple of spacer rings for the 6.5" door speakers

& they're now finally in, but nothing is wired up.

The rear of the speaker grill plastic had to be trimmed back to allow for the increased speaker size.

Thats about it for now.

I just have to wire it all up

& put it back together now

Any comments or ideas, positive

& negative, are most welcome.

Cheers
