Re: hello
My car came over from Japan with them on but you can get them from Toyota.
They occasionally come up for sale on here as well, or in scrapyards
- they were changed on all cars as of Rev4, not just imports.
I don't have side by side pictures of them, but suffice to say that the Toyota ones look
*just* like the ones you have at present, but not orange.
The ebay ones look like the photos on ebay

I've got absolutely no evidence to back this up but would suspect with the ebay ones, being a cheap aftermarket part, that you would run the risk of them being made of crapper plastic
/ being easier to break and not being a perfect fit? Especially considering how hard you have to lever them out to change a bulb.
What do other people think?

Also something to bear in mind when changing your lights is that the new ones need to be certified for use in the UK
(I think it's called an
'E Rating') otherwise you could fail your MOT.

Re: hello
I've got it!!!! I am hactually cursed!!!

I actually do not believe it! Was driving to my fellas today at around 75 on the motorway and just as im about to come off at his Junction
(I had my indicators on i was that close to coming off the M6) and steam pours out of my engine bay!!!!

I do the routine which is becoming a bit too common for my liking, Pull over stop, turn car off, Open engine cover and the cap on the radiator is bubbling away and there is steam pouring out! Grrrr!!

When my dad and his mechanic looked the car over they noticed the Fan was constantly on.
.
.
It seems the pillock i bought the car off did this to
(it appears) cover the fact that the car was over heating due to HG on its way out!

Can't believe the luck im having with this b*st*rd car!!! Least i can still drive it at the moment
(short necessary journeys only tho!)

I got 2 days of driving it before it broke!

Re: hello
Nasty business! Sorry you're having so much trouble.
jimGTS did a good write up on his HG change, would be same in principle.

Stick at it though, its all worth it in the end.

Re: hello
Trust me.
You have to keep the faith with these cars.
I had a bill for
£1509 3 weeks after getting my car, so I know where you're coming from.

Plus, a HG is a lot easier to fix than if the car was written off.
So there are some people that have it a lot worse.
Keep ya chin up, it will all come good soon

Re: hello
Well, its confirmed! It was an airlock.
Dad said his mechanic told him that i may get an airlock after a bit of driving since they drained everything then filled it all again.

Dad just forgot to tell me lol!
