First of all big thanks to Claire and the others down at Elite, very accomodating, nice setup they have there aswell.
Also to Scott, well arranged mate.
Hard to put a number on the amount of cars overall, some left early some arrived later, either way there were a few cameras about.......
Heres some pics
They also had a corner weight setup going, so me and scott decided for £20 it was definately worth it
From eight foot up in the air!
Finally got some new shoes
And some 3D alignment
Nice to finally see a mk1.5 in the flesh
I got your better side Tony
And a skyline and a couple of cars for sale!

turbo87 - cheers mate, I think you made the better choice going for the gunmetal grey rather than the bronze/gold on the wheels.
Tim - nice to see a rev 5 down there mate

Yep great to see so many new & old friends, thanks for organising this day guys just sorry i couldnt get there with my mk1, but with the engine sitting in the front room it would have been impossible ,although the Turbo Escort didnt look out of place in Essex , great to see 5 mk1's present one of them Petes fresh SC woodsport conversion, one of them Steves 3SGTE woodsport conversion, Malcs n/a, James's n/a & Sasha Starr's n/a , i got nearly all the way home when Sasha rang me to say that just 10 mins up the road from Elite she heard a loud pop from the rear of her car & its was handling funny, so i did an about turn & went all the way back to take a look, fortunately Max was with her & upon taking a look in the rain it appears that the rear tie rod ball joint gaitor was split & there was movment there but not enough to cause concern, however her suspension bushes had seen better days & this may have caused some movement, so i drove her car back as far as Enfield to check it out & make sure it was safe for them to drive all the way back home, so at least no one was stranded so i feel another set of fresh bushes will be on order from Fensport soon & maybe a pair of rear ball joints !. Video of the day here.

Thanks so much for a fab day! Was great seeing everyone and their motors. Thanks also to those who organised the day and those who took the pictures/videos!!
I had a little issue on the way home...
About 5 mins down the road I was taking off from traffic lights (and I wasn't even pushing it) we heard a 'clunk'. (Please excuse my non-technical vocabulary) Shortly after it felt as though there was a cross wind. It was fun bugging the driver behind me for driving so slowly. His frown lines were increasing as time ticked on. Managed to turn off into the Premier Inn just down the road. We put the car up on the jack but Max couldn't see anything obvious. Called Jinxy for advise and the next thing we knew he had done a 180 and was 5 miles away! After the coffee, hot chocolate and chips, I entrusted Jinxy to drive it down the M25. Max and I managed to make it home ok and managed to annoy more drivers by driving 50-60. It was depressing when two buses overtook though...
A MASSIVE thanks to Jinxy and Max for their help. Obviously Max didnt have a choice but to help out otherwise we were both walking home.
All in all, I guess the wheel alignment was just a catalyst for this problem... And it proves the point that as one problem is rectified, another replaces the previous. You got to love these cars!!
Hopefully will see you guys soon and my car will be back to normal soon!! (I'm depressed already...!)

Re: Elite 'IMOC' Day - Sun 24th Feb **SE Meet** - special discounts arranged.
Thanks guys im just glad Sash & Max got home safely , i was only about 30 miles away when i got the call from Sasha & fortunately it was just before the M11 exit, James (F199 ) was following me, but didnt see me turn off, so had no idea where i was, i got a call from him about 10 mins later but he only lives up the road from me so knew his way home, so i shot down the M11 into London about another 10 miles, along the north cirular road for about another 5 miles, then back up the A13 towards them about another 15 miles until we got to them when i told Sash i was only 5 miles away she perkrd up a bit but the mileage is irrelevant, above all they are friends & i couldnt leave anyone in a situation like that no matter how far away i was, just glad i was around to help although the coffee & bowl of Travelodge chips went down a treat . I was like an expectant father waiting for the text to say they got home safely last night , Jinxy

Oh Yeah i forgot to mention, we had an "Exhaust off comp " between James (F199 ) & Malc ( Tiamat ) for the loudest exhaust, the metering equipment was supplied by Scott who just happened to have one in his car ! James went first with a groundshaking 132.6 db's & Malc came second with a very impressive 129.3 db's, so Malc handed over his crown to James & vowed to be back on top next year i feel a drilled silencer moment coming on , well done both lads , Ben will post the footage later. Great meet Scott, haven't seen a good number of the people there for ages. Was good to meet a few new faces too.
The Sillycar's very happy with her new Vredesteins too.

Re: Elite 'IMOC' Day - Sun 24th Feb **SE Meet** - special discounts arranged.
As has been said - thanks very much for a great meet Scott (And of course the team at Elite)! It was all very well organised and I enjoyed it - a rare day out for me! My first MR2 meet of 2008!
As you've probably already read, it wasn't entirely without incident. The alignment doesn't seem to have been spot on in terms of the offside rear tie bar - it left the balljoint at the very limits of its travel meaning that when the car then went over a bump, it pushed the balljoint too far; damaging it...
We don't think that was the cause of the knocking noise that started though. I'm still to definitely trace that one down, but suspicions are that the bushes may have been on their way out already (well, they are pretty old) and now the alignment has pushed them to the limits of their travel available and so there's now metal knocking against metal rather than a rubber bush in between...
Typical, just when you go spend some money on a car it suddenly throws up a whole load of wobblies. And now Sasha has no idea what a properly aligned car feels like...
Big big thanks to Jinxy for coming back to help us try to find the problem. I couldn't find where the knocking had come from so Sasha suggested giving him a ring; between us we still couldn't find the cause. It was reassuring to have someone who knows more about these bits than me have a look as well, so huge thanks to him for being the mega-bloke he is and coming all the way back again to help out!
(Jinx, the car did wander a bit again on the way home while on the motorway... )
Still, we crawled back home and got there safe and sound (though I didn't get back to mine until after midnight... ).
Looks like I've now got another Mk1 that needs suspension sorted...
Lying under the car during and after it had rained wasn't the nicest way to end the meet, but I was still in good spirits over all - I'd enjoyed the meet that much that even getting covered in water and grease couldn't dampen my spirits...
Anyway, it really was a good day. Even though I didn't take many photos (muppet here forgot to recharge the camera battery so had to be conservative) I did get a few:
(Knocking comes from this side, but it's the balljoint on the other side of the car that's gone... )
Malcolm's 'special' air-filter...
