Just got back from having my radiator fixed, and I'd like to make a point in defence of Toyota main dealers.

My radiator cost £220 (vs. £120-160 for others), is a genuine part. With ancilliaries and fitting I actually spent £400, but only £100 of that is labour and the rest is me being fussy, wanting the system drained, flushed and refilled properly, new thermostat, and a gearbox oil change too.

The new radiator (and labour since it's been done by a main dealer) has a three year warranty. If it is at all defective, they replace it and do it all over again, free.

Given the quality of some cheaper parts I've seen, I think this is worth the extra (plus I didn't have to lie in the mud and gravel faffing about all day trying to fix the car - instead I got a cup of coffee or three, a test drive in a Prius, and to play on the showroom PS2).

I never had any major argument with toyota before this, for the work they did it was overpriced, wrongly fitted and all round poor work aswell as the fact they told me the window was non adjustable. There is no sticking up for the fact it took almost 2 week too fit a window and lie that they couldnt fit it. I personally will not take my car back there. They are ment to have a far better knowledge about the car than a normal mechanics and this went too show they simply dont.

I don't disagree - I just would like to point out that my particular dealer has never put a foot wrong. They were amazing when I had Seras, quick to get parts for me and work on the cars with a discounted price; you clearly got a terrible deal from yours this time!

I'm about to do window adjustments/servicing myself when the weather is better, and I will do it myself with the aid of a workshop manual.
