Yeah, Scott turned up for the second run - he had a soundmeter and it measured 130dB at 1m from the tip of the exhaust.

Put it this way - 120dB is the pain threshold ... but you're never going to be that close to the exhaust when it is pulling a power run :shock:

Very impressive to see it run that though :+:

jamesgtr, one theory discussed was you had a 1.4bar actuator hence no matter what we did with the boost controller it wouldn't boost anymore (Scott, the warn level was played with too).

Keep us updated with the progress of the car.

Well done to everyone who showed up, it was a great day and well worth turning up.

The team at TDI were also great and the set up was amazing, a big thanks to Jon B for organising the whole thing well worth the wait.

The pics ive seen already are really good and also thanks to Ben for some great pics of my manifold glowing red.
Just need to save up some more pennys to improve on my BHP as it was a little lower than I hoped for, and sort out the ticking noise on start up its driving me mad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have we got a list of what people made?

I was a little shocked at mine but then he broke it to me that it was running much higher boost than both the mechanical guage and the AVCR were showing :oops:

Still, richer than Bill Gates so unlikely to melt any time soon but will have to figure a way of getting it to where I want it and it stay there :-k

Jon,

I've got photos of the dyno plots from Mike and James - I'll check them later and post up the details.

From what I remember Mike's was ~375 at the Hubs (ie 400-ish flywheel bhp) and James's car was making 477 at the hubs, ie roughly 500-520bhp at the flywheel with 360 ft/lbs of torque.

Great to see both of them run - hope Mike got back home OK with the dead alternator.

2.2 stroker at 1.9bar, kinda needs to be that high! His torque figure was close to H's (James) which is even more impressive.

Because I havent really done anything to mine I haven't been paying attention to every one elses.

I remember when he and Mark were always competing and Mark had about 350bhp at the fly so Mikes seriously moved on. He didnt have any decalls last time I saw it either.

I guess you could say I've been out of the game for a while lol.

is that all the power the t88 got at 1.9bar?

i got 523fwhp and 350ftlb at 1.3bar.

i have nearly same spec.
