TDI Dyno Day

Hi,

You are reciving this PM (sorry if you've had it more than once) as you've shown interest in attending the free hub dyno day / minimeet at TDI in Essex this Saturday (9th February).

The event is kindly being hosted by TDI PLC, further information about the company can be found here: http://www.tdi-plc.com/

The day will start at 9am. TDI are based just behind Thurrock/Lakeside, just off J30 of the M25. A map and directions are linked at the bottom of this message.

TDI's dyno is a hub dyno so your rear wheels will need to be removed for the runs. Please don't forget your locking wheelnut or you won't be running!

The order of runs will be determind on the day, first come first served (from the runners list). We will try our hardest to get through everyone on the list, however 15 cars requires everything to run perfectly and if there are any problems during the day we might fall short. I will be one of the last runners.

TDI mapping expert Sam will be on hand so answer questions and explain how your car behaved during the power runs, also I hope Tony from wheels in motion will be on site to discuss geometry if anyone is interested.

TDI have done a number of these dyno days with the largest being Honda owners club which managed 40 cars. Spread the word for the meet, invite everyone you can, there's plenty of parking and lots of free tea, I'm sure we can beat HOC [Wink]

MR2only magazine should have a photographer on site so wash your cars!

If you can come and find me or Sam when you arrive at TDI it would be appreciated.

Not been down to TDI but have bought parts from them in the (distant) past.

Certainly would be interested in a run on their Dyno, even if it is just to compare results with those from various other dynos, so count me in. Wood also be good to see what Mike has been upto as well with his car ...

I don't think Mike will be involved sadly, will confirm at a later date.

I thought people would jump at a free dyno day, we seem to pay for inaccurate ones all the time, why not have something decent for free (plus they make pretty good tea...)

I don't remember the specifics now, it was something about negative comments and them not liking it, many years ago but I tend to remember the threats even if I don't recall the reasons behind them.

That's not to say they aren't good at what they do.

Yes, I can remember some heavy handed emails going to and Fro from TDI when someone on the email list posted a negative experience.

However, that's water long gone under the bridge and I'd certainly be interested to see what facilities they have.

It's only around the corner from me. I popped in last year with a friend to have a look around. They had some magnificent machines there. R32's 3's 4's Supra's Scoobies, Evo's. Clearly alot of people trust them with their toys.

The workshop is as said spotless with very large facilities. A very professional looking outfit.

As it's all of 10 minutes from me I'll be there.
