...bet your fellow road users love you. Don't have an accident or cause an accident because your insurance company loss adjustor or engineer employed to check out your car will invalidate you insurance if he spots those. Not having E-marked lenses means your car is not legally road worthy which means that you don't have any insurance...

Parts (whether it be lights or mirrors etc) fitted to a car do not have to be E-marked to pass MOT. They do however need to be of equivalent standard to an e-marked part. In the case of lights this applies to beam pattern and brightness.

I only know this as I recently put my kit car through SVA which is conducted by VOSA and far stricter than MOT.

However any lights imported from the USA will have the dip beam kick up on the wrong side, therefore will fail MOT. Even if you fit those tape style 'adjusters' they will fail, as if the car is UK registered it must be fitted with UK equivalent lights.

You need to look for headlights which have arrows pointing to the right (looking at the lens) as this shows which direction the kick is. If they have a double headed arrow then they wont pass MOT either, those are generally found on motorbikes.

ive just recieved mine... i put them on the headlight machine at work and the beam is pretty much the same as the uk ones
