[Mk2] [Turbo] LPG on my Rev3 Tubby?

Post by offshore4ft »

I'm sure this has popped up before but does anyone know if my rev3 turbo would run on lpg? The way petrol prices are going and at 15-20 mpg it looks like i'm going to have to sell up pretty soon.

I've heard that running it on gas will damage the mess about with the engine and damage the turbo? I'm running around 270-280 bhp on a Greddy TD05 turbo if that helps.

I wish the Government would just jack up the tax on LPG already.

It's 10-20% less efficient, and will cost between £800 and £1500. I would not be surprised if a conversion that keeps your power output worthy of all the investment in the car adds quite a bit to that, too.

That'll pay for a lot of fuel and you get to keep your boot - and keep a saleable car at the end of it.

IMO, LPG conversions are for people who call Jaguars "Jags" and want to cruise about the estate thinking they look "well off". Not for performance cars.

LPG wont be around forever. Not once battery/electricity power is properly cracked.

The Government have even stopped grants for this. Dont bother. Its the Betamax of fuels!
