I wish the Government would just jack up the tax on LPG already.

It's 10-20% less efficient, and will cost between

£800 and

£1500.

I would not be surprised if a conversion that keeps your power output worthy of all the investment in the car adds quite a bit to that, too.

That'll pay for a lot of fuel and you get to keep your boot

- and keep a saleable car at the end of it.

IMO, LPG conversions are for people who call Jaguars

"Jags" and want to cruise about the estate thinking they look

"well off".

Not for performance cars.
