possibly a Jap Spare ordered in through a Toyota Dealer....
I'd hate to know the cost!
Plus who knows how to program it in...?

cost approx 125 quid. I got quoted this for the original key with button on side of it (not fob type) :pale:

The only box under the drivers seat is the Dealer installed wireless central locking receiver. It happens to use a standard stereo receiver antenna lead as the antenna for itself.

The dealer installed wireless remote entry uses a 2 button key transmitter (transmitter built into the key)

The Maker installed wireless remote entry uses a single button (on the side of the key).

If you want to check if your car has the Maker option installed in it:

Close all doors and DO NOT insert the key in the ignition.
Open the drivers door.
press the power door lock switch from Lock to unlock 10 times at 1.0sec intervals
after 2 or 3 sec. the door locks will LOCK and UNLOCK once to confirm.

not that sure, but a friends ripped a black box out from under his rev1 few months ago, had coax running to rear screen. And power direct from engine bay fuse box. Google search on the part numbers, it appears to have been the brain box for an early 90s in car phone, the hand set long time missing
