[Mk2] [NA] Can anybody reccomend a decent garage near oxford

Post by d4v3 »

I was driving home from work last night, approaching a set of red lights. As i lifted off the throttle, i heard a popping sound and now i have a really annoying rattle/grinding noise coming from the rear. It's only noticable when i lift off the throttle and it doesnt get louder/faster with speed. I don't have a clue what it is so I'm gonna take it to a garage. Can anybody reccmend a garage that knows their mr2's near oxford?

I did check but there wasnt anything obvious. I have a feeling that its something to do with the gearbox as i've been having problems with it since i bought the car. Thanks for the info mate

2 bar are only a tuning company now :thumleft:

Nathan at Century Motorsport in Kidderminster is another option. All can be found in the Affiliates forum.

Is the rattle quite "metallic" sounding? It's quite common for the inlet manifold heatshield (why does it have a shield on it anyway?) to come loose and rattle - mainly when you lift off.

Just throwing that out there in case it isn't as serious as you first thought. A 10mm spanner and a very flexible arm/wrist should sort it.

Please don't blame me if your gearbox falls out though : )

I recommend Millway Vehicle Services in Andover - a bit of a trek from Oxford though...
