Blue interior though!! How could they, seriously.

I've got to say Kev's mk1a is the car to own... it is mint and i honestly can't see why a mk1b would be preferable over a very rare mint silver mk1a like Kevs.

See it in the flesh and you will want it. That car is one of my fave mk1s it really is stunning.

not 100% certain but I think most if not all silver 1Bs will have the blue interior unless they have leather

totally agree with comments about crazylegs's 1A it is a top car

Hi All,

Thanks for all the posts and PM's, but I'm sorry to say my search continues. I've seen 1 or 2 nice cars but for £3,000 - £3,500, which I've been told are over priced & also out of my price range. I also feel the chances of finding a mk1b in silver that meets my wish list won't ever happen.

What I'd like

mk1b late as pos.
T-bar
Silver (or red)
Leather
Under 80,000 on the clock (perfer under 60k)
Service history
100% No Rust

I know this is a lot to ask but I'm gonna keep looking.

One other question, I've been to see a couple of right stinkers why do people lie when selling a car? do they think i'm gonna turn up with a guild dog and just not see the rust or that the rear bumper has a 3mm gap one side and a 3 inch gap the other?

Thats enough ranting for now ](*,)

Arthur Daley syndrome
yes people seem to think they are expected to lie as part of selling
I once viewd a car and it was a year earlier than advertised, when questioned the seller said it would have been the year stated but for a few months!! turned out his few meant 11 #-o

Exchange and Mart, MR2 drivers club website, local paper, classic car magazines... I presume you've tried a wanted ad on here?

Have you considered a supercharger? Much more likely to come with no rust...

Good luck with your search :thumleft:

Well youve only just missed out on the one we had for sale, sold about 3 weeks ago & it was a super little car & is probably the last car we will sell this year. We sell MK1's in the summer & break MK1's in the winter months, so its always worth looking on here to see who is selling their cars. It really depends on how choosey you are when it comes to MK1's, those cars that are virtually mint seem to stay with the owners who have spent a small fortune & ages getting them to that condition, the other cars that are for sale are ones that normally need work, but have had some work already done to them, these will come up much quicker than those in mint condition, so you might consider one of those if your in a hurry, spend less on the actual purchase. but a little more on the refurb to take your total to £2500, certainly worth considdering :thumleft: , cheers, Jinxy

Is it proper silver? I always thought the mk1a silver was the more goldish platinum (still a nice colour). Please feel free to correct me if there was a proper silver on the mk1as i've just never seen one but would be great to hear.

there was a mk1a gold/champagne colour (light gold) urgh :oldtongue:
