possibly like a vacancy

Or each sub forum's have own team of moderators not one each but one moderator has three forums specialising in that area ??

If its down to a vote then the highest poster and the people in the click will be voting,,,

You cant sit there and say there is not a click on this forum

I know its the nature of the Beast but I am just blowing of steam 8)

That was me who mentioned the bending of rules... I was speaking for myself not every mod.

Belive it or not even the mods get told off if they take the p1$$ to much, I should know

Leakie you said that mods should know about mr2's therefore wat Steve says about being technical makes sense.

Being a moderator is a pretty shitty job... It's the kind of job you'd think twice about doing if you were getting paid let alone doing it for free.

If it was that good do you really think i would of stepped down from being a mod? These people keep the boards clean and tidy without them all you'd see is spam and posts in the wrong places.

The mods never ask for any praise and never get any but what they do get is attacked for doing a job which quite frankly is crap.

Its a popularity contest lmao how the xxxx did i get voted in then.

Give them a break hey

spittinflames (lee) whats the reason you stepped down from been a moderator?

moderators need a section to talk about other members and talk about them, moderators do talk and i know for a fact some of the things that get said in the moderators section shouldnt get said about people, thats why that section will never be allowed to be veiwed me us regular members

and no far from it lee i do not want somone to turn around and ask if i want to be a mod.

and you been an ex retired mod should know that there is a click on this forum

I stepped down because i wasnt 100% behind the banning of Tim and lost all confiedence in imoc and also my heart just wasnt in it.... But thats just my own view.

... All moderators must stick togeather, Thats why no one mod can make a descision... So what if there is a little click?? I've said it before and i'll say it again If you stick to the rules then there is no problem

The only time theres a problem is when someone breaks a rule, they get told off....cry and kick up a fuss.... Don't they Rob

Just to be clear here...... THIS IS ALL MY OWN OPINION

This forum is being moderated please stick to the original topic  :eye:

In all seriousness If there was a benifit to the club and its members by unlocking the mod section I think it would be considered, But I cant see the benifit of allowing everyone to view it afterall it mainly full of boring posts about removing spam.

The mods need a section to discus issues before a decision is made. Alowing everyone to view it would only lead to posts about how people dissagree with certain problems before they have been fully resolved.

I always liked the idea of the odd designated 'technical' person for each section (bit like the MK1 Club had for their mag) but sometimes tuning is a matter of personal opinion (particularly where to buy stuff from  ) so it probably wouldn't work...

In all honesty I think mods with good mechanical knowledge would be wasted as a mod - there wouldn't be enough time for them to be useful at passing on their knowledge as they'd be busy moderating :eye:

LOL! then followed by ROFLLAAB. Quality. Your arguments are so weak and so ill informed that honestly, they don't warrant discussion.

I am right most of the time, i don't see why that is so hard to accept. On the other hand if i'm wrong, i will happily admit that and have done so on countless occassions. Unlike some, i'm not too proud.

Yet again though, you bore me with weak arguments, poor logic and no suggestion that is useful or constructive.

dude541 wrote:i have no problems with the rules on this site, but shouldnt admin/committee follow these rules to?
as some just do what they want, when they want!

Thats just it though, we do follow these rules religously. Ask any moderator how hard i come down on them if i believe they are breaking the rules or putting the club in a possible situation of disrepute. If you think i'm tough on the forum, then i am positively hitlerish on the mod forum when it comes to this kind of thing. This is because i passionately believe that if the mods and committee are to enforce rules, we ourselves need to be following them and everyone must toe the line. There would be anarchy otherwise.

As i tell everyone (committee included) we cannot ever be seen to be breaking rules or behaving in a way that we would not consider acceptable by the regular members.

It really frustrates me that you say that Dude101, because we never ever do 'whatever we want'. It just does not happen. Maybe you should consider that running a club is actually not that easy and it is a thankless task. People don't like you for the effort you put in, i'm not saying for a moment that i want people to like me, i am not that insecure that i waste any time worrying about my popularity. I do what i do because i do it for the best interests of the club. If people don't like me for it, then so be it, i will sacrifice that and i will continue to do so, because i want the club to continue to grow.

Also it is worth considering that is never possible to please all the people, all the time. There will always be those that criticise and we all as a committee accept that.

robbrookes5 wrote:well all hell has broken loose on this thread now hasnt it lol

just for the record i have never met dude or infact shared any pm`s to date as far as im aware?

lauren this is not a dig at you and im not trying to start a debate or anything...

but i recall a lot of people actual requested you to stop using text speak or whatever you wanted call it but you refuse to because there is another name for it so thats ok for you.

im not saying stop it as nothing i say will make a difference as im not a committe member nor i have any power on imoc, but if the forum is for members then listen to them its all about a little give and take on things

members do sugest things just look in the sugestions section but alot of stuff just doesnt happen because the committe has the final choice in the matter

imoc is split into groups

us and them

there needs to be a balance on things. and people need to work as a team instead of getting shot down all the time

its like if theres a problem the mods word is final, never to be discussed with other forum members? somtimes alot of you guys need to take a step back and see things both ways instead of one way

alot of people have left this forum some very very good members
and there sadly missed

michael when i first joined really contributed to the site and he seemed a really good guy but hes pretty much gone now, earl and tim just to name a few

this attitude that some of the committe have is our words final if you dont like it leave. and people are leaving, in my eyes somthing has got to give and together people need sort this club out

Rob, for the record, using acronyms is not the same as text speak. IMOC is an acronym for example. Acronyms are a part of everyday life and also prevalent on the internet as they have been for years.

The thing is Rob, it is never possible to please all the people all the time. We do listen to members and i appreciate constructive criticism, there is nothing wrong with that. But, when it is the same handful of members complaining and the other 8000 aren't you do wonder if its got personal over constructive don't you?

We have been long enough to realise that there will always be a vocal few. These are people that no matter what we say their opinion will not be swayed and they will never be happy. Its forum life, its how it goes, I get the same thing doing my job as a social worker. There is always someone to criticise me.

As Scott rightly points out the decision of the committee (When i say the Committee i am not talking about just me, i'm talking about the Committee as a collective) everything gets voted on, everything gets discussed. We don't always agree with each other either, there have been some right arguments on the admin forum. Ulitmately Rob, someone has to take the responsibility of making decisions. Not all those decisions will always be universally popular, so we have to consider the majority rather than the minority.

Also do not forget we are all volunteers. There is no 'staff' (as some have referred to us as), we all give our time free etc. I don't want nor do i expect any thanks for that, that is not why i do it. I do it because i enjoy being involved and because there is stuff that i need to be involved with at the moment. I will not be a committee member forever don't worry. ;)

Members move on, they sell their cars, get married or elope etcetera. The demographics are constantly changing and this may well make things better or it may well make the feel of the club worse in your eyes.

Michael is a long standing member who was on the admin team back in the old yahoogroups days. He has contributed a great deal, make no mistake of that, but he has had the odd axe to grind at times too.

Ultimately I think it comes down to one thing, a lot of people don't like you / the character you play here.

I suffer the same thing :)

And let's not forget the Q&A, that was so well moderated that people didn't even know it had mods ;) Oh and here, that wasn't such a fun time, too difficult to get things done due to the structure in place.

but he has had the odd axe to grind at times too.

Indeed, mostly with you :)
