My friend works in a performance car garage called autotechnics in Chichester. Its just across the road from harbour cars if anyone knows them. They specialise in porsches and high end cars. They get all of the service work and repairs for their cars when it doesn't have to be done by porsche. Anyway, you would not believe how hard they are to work on. You thought a 2 was bad. Having to remove the rear bumper to do basic engine stuff means a lot of man hours, so costs are high. Not only that, but the costs of parts is ridiculous. A few basic bits and your in to the thousands, and I mean basic bits.
As for the boxter, its truly horrible. Has to be the second ugliest porsche, just short of the cayenne, and yes they do seem to be owned by people that are very aware they are driving the lowest spec porsche, and feel they have to drive it like an idiot to make up for this.
I have no doubt they are a capable car, but think of what else you could buy for that amount of money, new or second hand. Some serious cars that are much more capable than the boxter.

Glad i'm not the only one that would genuinely rather have a tubby than a boxster, they're disgusting and too many cars can run rings around them. I mean ffs look how crap they look!

It's not all about how much money you spend it's about the fun factor and getting the best all-around for your money and if you threw boxster money at a tubby you would be far better off in every respect.

I'm sure Stevie Wonder was just messing, don't take it personally, he's just relieving some frustration after reliasing what car he drives.

Nowt wrong with MX5s. Seen a few MX5 Superchargers that would give some tubby's here a run for their money and wipe the floor with a lot of them. Have been very impressed with them. Plus they get the full cabriolet experience! One up on the MR2 on that score.

Hold your horses mate, he quoted you twice there. I grant you it was a little out of order, but you kinda brought that one on yourself with the two statments.

who gives a monkeys when its 300Kg lighter than the sw20 barge, gives my mx5 70bhp/ton more than a stock rev3 turbo. :D

Had my 1st MR2 about 6 years ago, had a modded n/a, modded turbo, modded AW11, now moved on to better things ;)

Was it you who came to SRR with Planet a couple of months ago?

I think you'll probably find that its the same marques and models that crop up though (beemers, civics, evos and boxsters mainly)

I think the anti MR2 vibe is more worrying, even some of the sites mods seem to want to bite the hand that feeds them.

Confused by that statement, can you clarify?
Not seen any anti-MR2 posts from the Moderator team.
