


Tested the battery output



Tested output of alternator



Also shorted the voltage regulator with no increase in voltage.


Concluded that the alternator was shot.








Did a couple miles stop/start journeys last night, all fine.








Just tested battery



Started up and Alt V went from 13.5V dropping to 12.8V over a couple of mins.


Is the s/h alternator suspect too? Why would the voltmeter fluctuate, loose/weak connection? Car still drives fine with voltmeter not dropping below



It has a black box attached to the side with a connection to the alt output.
