Rev 1 T-Bar Turbo in Aqua Marine - £1600!!!!!!!!!

Post by 2Crooky »

Well........

I am not pleased about doing this :pale:  [-( but i have to sell my baby to fund my ski season in the alps! Without selling her i will not have enough money to live on whilst i work ](*,)

She is a rev 1 t-bar turbo in aqua marine(very rare colour!!!)

I have owned her since March and bought her with stock wheels and an apexi back box. The car has been the most reliable i have ever ownwed(out of 7 cars!!!) but she does have a few minor flaws.

Here's the spec -

79,000 miles
New Cambelt
MOT - March 2008
Tax - December 2007
Lots of service history since import
Original jap service book
Air Con
Leather/alacantra seats

17" Volk F-Zero Challenge alloys(rare as rockin horse xxxx!! and now discon. Did cost £2000 new from Volk!! )
Tein HA fully adjustable Coilovers - £1000+ worth
TRD Gearnob
HKS Mushroom filter
Bailey dump valve
Blitz decat pipe
Blitz Nur Spec
TB fuel cut defender
Manual Boost Controller - set to 1.0Bar
Magnecor HT leads
NGK Grade 7 iridium plugs
Pioneer head unit
Smoothed front bumper(not done that well tbh)

Negative points - I am being 100% here as i am a genuine IMOC member and love my cars to bits, i don't see any point in trying to hide anything!

Cambelt has been changed but tensioner/idler bearing have not so there is a faint wine on idle and light acceleration.
Cam cover seals could do with replacing - a little gunk build up around the cam cover.
Stone chips to front bumper
A few small dents and scratches(to be expected!)
Primer overspray on headlight surrounds
Wear on steering wheel
Dash surround is painted gloss black but looks naff!(previous owner)
Wheels could do with a refurb
Phantom click occurs every so often from front left coilover - have had this inspected briefly but nothing was found, plus nothing noted on MOT and full service.
No t-bar bags
Nur Spec flexi is blowing a teeny bit
Some of the plastic clips that hold interior trim have broken(probs 25p to replace!

I bought this car with all these faults for £1000 more than what i am selling it for!!!

The wheels(if new), exhaust(if new) and other mods come to around - £4000!!!!!!!! :o and i am selling the car for £1600!!!

If the car is of no use to anyone these parts could be sold seperatly for far more than the asking price!!

The car has never broken down or let me down! She drives beautifully and pulls hard through all gears with no smoke on idle or acceleration.

I still need a run around between now and November so am looking for a Golf Mk2 GTI :)

Thanks for looking x

hi mate!

i'm really interested in this but i'm concerened about the harshness of the ride. i used to own a rev1 with GAB coilovers on but it was demented how hard the ride was!

whats it like?

hmmm....lol! :-k

Hard to describe.....

Softer than Cusco and Buddy Club coilovers but harder than K-Sport. Rebound time is superb so it doesn't feel sloppy. They are fully adjustable with 16 settings of damping force though.....

How bumpy are your roads

i assume youve never been a victim of hertfordshire county council roads then!

i have to wait for my loan papers to come back and then ill get back in touch about viewing the car. i cant make any promises right now as i cant be definate when the cash will appear in my account but it should be during next week sometime.

i REALLY want your car though its absolutely what i want in a car right now!

No worries mate :thumleft: just keep me posted! I would break the car on here for a lot more money but i only have till the end of October :( As i said above the car drives superbly and a lot of members on here are surprised at just how nippy she is 8)

She was up at JAE this year and a lot of people know me and the car so can hopefully back me up when i say i take the best care of her possible! I was stuck in a job paying £5 an hour which was paying off my insurance and petrol but i just don't have the cash to get the other bits done.....

I know there are gonna be some people that will hate this decision i have made but its car or future employment at the mo!!! I have had 3 MR2's now and this will definitly not be my last!! :D

Re. suspension, AFAIK they are currently set quite stiff and on soft setting are not much worse than stock. They're Tein coilovers anyway 8)
