I had a problem with over heating amps in the boot when i tried. Filtering the rca cables from engine noise and Filtering the speaker cables from engine noise

I've heard of people running them but not at high ampage.

There are two vents either side of the boot maybe hook a fan onto them for ventalation? But the problem is then is the amount of water that will get in

You could use some sort of oiled filter (like your air filter) to stop the water getting in tho

there`s a small hole below the ecu..cut a hole in the rubber and feed some cable through and use a bit of wire to hook it up from your engine bay... :thumleft:

What amps are you running? I was running a 500 and 1000 mono rms and they kept over heating when i turned it up

At the mo im only running the one kenwood 1000w amp, and to be honest i personally cant see any prob with running what you have in mind.
However i have been wrong in the past lol
just run the wires in, and see how you get on mate to be honest.
Like i said i havnt had any probs at all touch wood :thumleft:
Pm me and keep me posted as i would like to know for future reference

quite a statement there mate, surely this is dependant on the efficiency of the amp that you are using. if you have a 1000w amp then this figure will take into account all the power of the amp which is obviously made up of sound and heat, the better the efficiency of the amp the less heat dissapation you will get. also the boot of the 2 isnt that small, how do you think FG installs get on? they put amps into tight locations surrounded by FG which acts as an insulator and they still work. if you are using a half decent amp then heat build up in the boost shouldnt be too much of an issue

I'm using two alpine m500 which are 550ish rms, a kenwood 600 for the 4 channel and 3.5 farad.

The problem i had was because the engine heat was being transfered to the boot and also the amps created heat. I also had to insulate the cables allot!!. It is possable to do but to have a good system you'll have to do allot of work
