i cant really see it properly in those pics.maybe cos its all black on a black car..hmmm. from what i can see it just looks wrong. not fitted properly . a bit like an undertray has come undone and fell down a bit.

can you get some better pics up?

(sorry to sound negative on this one  )

i want solid comments like that. too many people are beating round the bush.

as said if its looks really sh*t and people are gonna say, "gawd that looks w4nk" then i'll take it off even if it does help.

the main problem i think, as said, is that its as high as it'll go because of the exhaust. i think if the grill were removed it'd make more of a gap. i could cut away the grill but can remove the part where the diffuser is mounted too and if i take it off, i wont have a grill....

It does look a bit "stuck" on at the moment. it needs to be raised and joined to the rear bumper somehow ..... but with the grill there an the exhaust i'm not sure it can be done.
I'd like to see it on a 2 with a Toms rear , no grill and a different exhaust. Something i may try in the future.........

for it to look right, you're going to have to remove the metal grille on the back. if you do, you could make up a piece of ally to rivet to the top of the diffuser in the mid section (will provide a little bit of rigidity/strength), the use some long bolts or threaded tube to hold it in place and bolt it to the bootfloor/ bumper mountings. i think that way you could get a better looking finished piece.

(i can see what i mean in my head, but probably haven't explained it very well).

Think this is how it should look but would need a cut out for the exhaust.... its photoshop'd so may not be possible but this is what needs to be done . Think this is what splashnatz means....

yeh that would look ace, but where the diffuser goes up in the middle the exhaust backbox would then just sit in the middle of this and would defeat the object - making it a showy bodykit instead of functional. if it sits in the garage with nobody makin any offers for it i'll probably end up cutting it in the middle to see if it'll fit but it'll need a load of strengthening where the gap is cut out for the exhaust.

Yeah i know , like i said its a photoshop job and may not be possible with the exhaust. If you could build your own exhaust to fit around a rear diffuser that worked and looked good you would have something unique, may be a side exit exhaust sitting closer to the boot floor, but would it be worth it for the work involved?

red:
that's kinda how i envisioned the one i have to be like but i cant do it as my exhaust backbox runs horizontal along the boot. Someone with the same exhaust or similar exhaust that comes out straight or at an angle could do that with the diffuser i still have. It did however come a cropper the day i was going ot take it off as i was doing some (more) speed testing (on a track again  ) and i hadnt done a bolt at the end - closest to the front of the car - up porperly and it came...er...undone #-o so would need a bit of fibreglass to patch it up  if anyone wants to make an offer gimme a shout

mikey p:
i like that! looks like its drooping down a bit at the sides. can it be fixed up a bit more or maybe another bolt to hold up the sides. looks good tho. is it made from ally?

havent read the whole thread but has anyone mentioned you need a completely flat/smooth underside to make use of a diffuser?
