You sure about that?

Dont assume mate! You just make an ass of yourself! :)

If i spent 15k on a car i would have a car that was actually faster and better than the mr2.
The evo looks like a spotty 17 year old threw up on it.

Evo is way down the list on cars to own!

15k, can think of cars MILES better than Evo. Like an Exige, Corvette, M3, XJR.

It may be newer, but thats all it has going for it.

The youths driving it round my way, seem to think they have the best car around.
They have been educated!!!!

Im bored of these complete useless posts... they prove absolutely zero, quarter mile racing comes down the driver as well as horsepower, a 450hp EVO will be getting low 12's all day....

Thought id share my experience with evo drivers last year i bumped into a guy i used to go to school with at york drag, Got chatting about cars and stuff I was in my rev1 tubby, asked him what car he was driving and he said evo 5 in the usual way like its the greatest car on earth and mines a peice of crap, I asked him what sort of mods he had done to his car he said it was running an Apexi PFC and 2bar of boost  making 450hp
I thought wow maybe he's not like the rest of em and he's got the goods to back his mouth up.

Then he proceded to run these time's

YES there are quicker times than mine from the evo however i thought i would use this as an example of the ammount of crap people talk I mean 450hp and high 13's I think evo's must be made of lead.

Oh my old rev1 was stock apart from a blueflame exhaust cost me £1700 and had 128,000 miles on it.

An MR2 with the same power would be running high 11's

Take it easy Mikey 2tits ;)

those times remind me of a certain evo last year.it was a evo 4 and the driver could not get into the 13,s.should they not be able to do low 13,s all day :?: .the best my mate could do with a proven 470bhp was 12.9@115mph,he has a good excuse though as it has only been down the strip once and he is not used to it.his car now has 521bhp so it should go a bit better now.power at the wheel was about 300bhp if i remember right

Just wondering what is the big difference between the scooby, evo and GT4 anyway? They're all the same and realisticly id rather spend on the GTR. IMO I think if u par a rev3 modded turbo it will be quicker in a str8 line than any 4WD pushing similar figures. On handling in the wet is a different story.

My point was just how much crap some people talk the terminal speeds of that evo do not equate to 450hp regardless of launch/driver skill  my old car was a rev1, it was black, it will do 1/4 mile in just over 14s these are all facts.

It's no use saying evo's are great, Mines faster than yours ect,
Why not give us some hard fact's on how your evo if the greatest thing since nipples

Every car is different and its unfair to compare one against the other with all the mods available. With a perfect launch a standard evo is quicker than a standard rev 2 tubby (simple answer to your question).
When buying my last car my short list was a rev3,evo 6,skyline,gto,200sx,pulsar and a cossie...I choose the rev 3 tubby as after taking everything into consideration i thought that it had the most potential. I know that there are some highly modded evo`s out there running some superb times but there are some 2`s with just as good if not better. Iv`e seen some clips of 2`s in America running the quarter in a shade over 9 secs.....
I for one know i made the right choice  :D

tbh the tubby can kick ass with the right amount of money spent on it and with it`s good looks is the car of my choice. :eye:

And head to head with a similar powered evo well i think the 2 will have it..
More areo dynamically and less drive-train loss...at the end of the day though who really cares...im happy

Haven't read this whole thread, but going back onto the launch issue on 4WD Vs 2WD, i think if you check the 60ft times at TOTB last year and the year before, i am 99.9% sure the MR2 was the quickest. Quicker then 1000BHP Skylines / Norris Evo, etc etc!

...at the end of the day, even if the EGO were a quicker car (lol) would you want to drive a car that gets mistaken for a Bombay Texi?

See you at TOTB, dipsh1t.
