Retro Rides

Mallory Park, Leics.

10th-12th August
http://www.retro-rides.com/

Retro Rides is a brand new show for this year, and is already looking to be a
great camping weekender
.

What is a

Retro Ride? Well this is taken from the show website:

Very broadly it covers the numerous marques of classic and modified classic cars.
The cars are generally a peoples car of some sort, rather than an out of reach sports car, or they are an under appreciated classic.
Some will be returned to factory spec, some may have a natural patina and others will be modified
(either aesthetically, mechanically or both).
More often than not they would be what most people consider budget classics
- above everything else the Retro Ride Show is about a love of cars!

So as you can see, I think the MR2 MK1 will fit in perfectly here in any guise

concourse or modified.
Whats on:
Friday
the main gates open for access to the campsite but not the main show area

(I plan only to camp on sat night, weather permitting!).
Saturday
the main gates open at 9am, and if you plan to be on the club stand then please get there early

(before 10am is best).

Saturday is the main show day with activities till midnight!

There is a

RWYB-style sprint race competition using a section of the Mallory circuit

, but I am still trying to clarify details such as cost/helmets/driving license etc for this

(maybe check the website for updates or contact me closer to the time if you wish to compete in this).

There are guest speakers and car demos on track, a trader village, for sale area, soap-box-derby race down the Mallory hill, a mobile Rolling-Road, a remote controlled car race and display area, and a marquee

& bar till late.
Sunday
will see the VSCC vintage race meeting on the circuit, plus a special selection of Retro Show Cars on display.
