IF I WAS TO GET A MR2 GT

,WOULD I REGRET NOT BUYING A TURBO?

It depends on whether or not the N/A would suffice power-wise for your needs and expectations.

There are many people on here who have N/As, and are more than happy with them.

JAY JAY wrote:AND WILL THE INSURANCE BOTTLE ME COMPARED TO A NON TURBO?

Hell yeah!

How much you're willing to pay on the insurance depends on how much you want to drive the car!

I pay a small fortune

(even at 31) to insure my tubby, but this is all part-and-parcel of owning a car like that.

JAY JAY wrote:DO YOU HAVE TO SPEND MORE MONEY REPLACING AND KEEPING THE TURBO TIP TOP??

It depends on how the previous owners either looked after the car and engine, and how much you would do the same.

Abuse any car, and she'll punish you financially.

.

.

Service intervals
are
more frequent for the tubby.

JAY JAY wrote:YOU COULD SPEND A LOT OF MONEY GETTING IT RIGHT BUT

I DONT WANT TO SPEND-JUST USE,?

Again, if correctly looked-after and serviced regularly, you won't have any problems.

JAY JAY wrote:DO THEY BLOW OFTEN??

Not if you don't abuse them

(I'm assuming you're talking about the actual turbocharger unit).

Skip a couple of oil changes and start whacking up the boost, and it
will
blow.

JAY JAY wrote:PLUS HOW WOULD IT HANDLE IN TOWN TRAFFIC EVERY DAY?

No problemo.

Obviously not as good as an automatic Lexus, though.

JAY JAY wrote:ALSO BEING AN IMPORT WHAT PROBLEMS WOULD THIS CAUSE?

None really, it depends on where you take the car to be repaired/serviced.

Many places view the MR2 Turbo as a UK MR2 with a Celica GT4 engine in, whilst others will just stand there sucking air through their teeth and saying

"Well.

.

.it's an import, y'know.

.

.

".

The only problem I've had with owning an import has been waiting a few days longer for certain body panels that differ from the UK model in a repair situation.

JAY JAY wrote:NEVER DROVE A TURBO CAR AND THE MR2 GT T BAR IS STILL A MOVE UP FOR ME!!!!

Understandable.

Being mid-engined and turbocharged can sometimes make for an unpredictable beastie to drive in certain conditions.

Maybe another MR2 owner local to you could take you out for a spin somewhere quiet?

JAY JAY wrote:COULD I DRIFT AND BURN WITH A MR2GT?

What do you mean by this?

Oh, and lastly: turn yer damn CAPS LOCK key off, and welcome to IMOC!
