Boost Gauge Install

Post by L0rdMike »

Ok I want to install my new gauge, question is On my Rev3 I can see the pipe comming from under the sensor which goes into the silver thing (manifold?)

I have my T piece and all that, do I have to cut into this pipe for the gauge or is there another way?

I have looked at the guide but the pics aint to good. Just want to be sure thanks. :)

The pressure pipe goes into my control CPU as per the post!! See point 14)

The SBC iD III controller wire then goes from the control CPU to the controller face. That part is not shown as its up to each owner to decide where to mount that. I mounted mine in one of the DIN slots as I had a powermeter ID

Every boost controller/guage is different..that write was just to show how to tap the pressure and how to bring a cable through.

You can see it mounted http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/garage.php ... ge_id=2422

You could always just change the pipe mate to something of good quality. Washer jet hose has a stiffer sidewall than most silicone hose, I have a combo of this and proper nylon tubing from a decent boost guage in all the areas it could get crushed,

Will be plumbing mine in this weekend. So the T goes above the white thing then? Or doesnt it make a difference? What is that white thing anyway?

Where can I buy peices to join the tubing to extend it a bit?

The pipe can be teed into that place, or better still, taken from the blank take off on the under side of the inlet plenum (difficult to see though).

From there, it can be fed through either the passenger side, or the driver side gromments in the firewall. I used the passenger side, as my e-01 EBC's solonoid is fitted to the bulhead right next to the opening on the passenger side.

As the pipe comes into the cabin from behind either the driver or passenger seat, it can be routed down the centre console, or down the sill. Personal preference. Mine is down the centre console, as it was just easier.

From there, mine goes under the dash, and is fed up the driver side pillar to the guage, which is in a custom pod.

The job isn't hard, but it is a little awkward in places.
