Fitting a Blitz SBC iD III

Post by poyntesm »

Hi all,

I finally fitted my SBC iD III at the weekend.....well part of it anyway. The standard engine bay does not have a lot of room for the solenoid so I decided to leave it for now and just measure what boost I was getting as standard. I am going to order a air filter and this should free up some space for the solenoid. Once it arrives I will update the rest of this thread with pictures for that and connecting the solenoid up to the turbo. I will then place it in the KB...plus rest of photos will be circled where needed.

Just thought it might be of use to someone even though it is not finished yet...

1) Remove trim around gear stick.

3) Remove screw near ciggy lighter

7) Remove center arm rest rim (Do Both Sides!!)

8) Remove both box lid covers behind seats

9) Remove trim behind seats, they unclick but the drivers side has one screw. This allows you to lift the carpet and access the gromets

10) Place control unit under gear linkage

11) Locate a live & eath wire...I used the cig lighter as it is a live from accessory and not just ignition...again I used wire joiners. The grey wire on the cig lighter is the live and the black and white striped one the earth.

12) Run power and display cables underneath heater control and down center console.

13) Connect power and display cable into control unit

14) Connect pressure hose to control unit using supplied connector.

15) Thread pressure hose through gromet in firewall on drivers side into engine bay
Image

16) Locate pressure sensor in engine bay
Image

17) Cut pressure senor

18) Insert supplied metal T into cut pipe
Image

19) Insert pressure hose into T

20) Zip tie lose cables
