you must be really chuffed, particularly as most of what youve done was by your own hands, nothing beats the feeling when you turn the key and it roars into life,

Truely awesome results, you must be over the moon \:D/ What I like is the fact that you built the engine yourself, you must give yourself a big pat on the back =D> Spoke to Rob today and he told me what a great machine you've built and what a great guy you are :D

no probs on the wiring nath.

Good results, exspect to see some good times from that. Only suggestions is you sort the driveshafts out as i can't see the standard chocolate CV joints lasting long with that kind of power.

Be nice to see what turbo is actually on that thing, i did a bit of reseach for you last night, The turbo kit is definitly a sard unit but instead of the normal KKK3070 turbo fitted its got some t4 beast instead. Its not a hks unit as its got no markings in the usual locations and the compressor blades do seem a little larger.

WOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! \:D/ \:D/ \:D/ \:D/
Well done Nath,a man after my own heart, congrets mate,i want to be in your situation now,i hhave the set-up,it just needs to be tuned.
But tell me,
I have just installed the fans only yesterday on my TMIC kit,i'm seeing ~40-44deg when running (?!?!?!) its a huuuuuge IC,the fans seem to be doing a good job,i dont know what else to do!?
Does your exahaust run directly under your IC?
Have you heatwrapped anything?Have you carried out any under-bonnet ambient temp mods, i.e. engine lid fans/removal of the black tinny shield or anything?
I bet you're so pleased, you better get to that track and get some no's down before the end of the year!!
Oh, P.S. That was MY tired looking MR2 at the RR day guys, she's a rolling project it now seems!

Thanks guys.

Yeah i must admit its a nice feeling to build a motor yourself and see the results. The only things i couldnt do was the actual machining like head skim and conrod re size. Apart from that i did everything.

I need to say a massive thanks to Hussein @ Performance parts online for supplying me with lots of my bits - such a great guy!!

Also Tim@TB again supplied me with lots of bits

Not forgetting Mark (Nightspirit) for sourcing me many parts inc the monster turbo!

And perfect touch for mixing all the ingredients together correctly to cook up a monster!!

The thing i like about all these guys is the fact that they all have a huge enthusiam about what they do. And treat it as if it was their own car! To have Hussein come down to see it on the rollers and share my elation was great and when Rob came out of that booth with a grin bigger than a cheshire cat - for me, that just said it all!!!

Back to the tech stuff now..........

Elmo, splashed out £55+ vat for each fan as they are proper racing fans (aparently more efficient than spal) and i also got a big scoop under the car to draw the air in when i move at speed.

Im using the same IC as you so there is no prob there. I do need to vent my bootlid a bit more but on the way back last night when booting it the temps never went above 38deg!!

I run an apexi gt exhaust and nothing on the car is lagged (yet!!) but the underside tray on the engine cover was removed. When on flat chat for a while the heat through the bulk head is immense but thats because the dp is about 2 mm from it!!!

Rob seemed pretty sure it was a HKS unit Tim and its defo a bearing turbo because spool up for its size is really good. I have found pics of a HKS TO4S and it looks very similar - maybe my compressor wheel has been re worked? Who knows!!!! But for a turbo to make that power at that boost it has to be something good!

Cheers guys! Ill get some pics of the graph and the finished item soon \:D/

no doubt its a good unit, you should have a hks stamp just before the 4 footprint also a manufactures stamp on the CHRA section.

Well we know the turbo kit is definitly sard, maybe retrofitted a hks or similar turbo ontop.

The hks t04s according to hyper-revs was making 500ps at 1.7 bar. You running around those pressures?

lol british roads at its best mate.

don't know why we pay road taxes, i kurbed a set of £2000 alloys the other day on a pot hole, called the counsil and they said can't do anything, went back to photo it anyway and take them to small claims and they were filling it in when i arrived. tossers.

One of the problems i have to address is the heat soak on the std inlet temp sensor. I know someone has done a mod (is it Bry??) to eliminate this, can anyone give me the link or pm me a quick how to???

Thanks,

Nathan

i know mikejc did this on his power fc as well, as i wanted to do this with mine.

Sure its just case of a faster frequency sensor and mounting it into a nice piece of silicone to stop heat soak.

i dont think the sensor frequency needs to be changed just need to stop the heat soak If you stop for 5 mins then it heatsoaks and takes ages to come dwn so im loosin power due to ign retard!!!!

You can still get off there if you are coming clockwise.

If not you can get off at 26 and come round that way. It only adds maybe 10 mins if that.
