As a rule I don't respond to criticisms as everyone is entitled to their opinion and I don't feel it's productive to get into a you said that and I said this argument.

However I really think lukem deserves a response.

The car he came to look at

(twice) and test drive was in all respects a very nice example of a Sonic Shadow.

44,000 miles and full Japanese service history.

No dents no previous repairs.

Perfect interior condition perfect diamond polished alloys.

True the front nose was not the EXACT shade of silver as the wingsand bonnet, however this is not unusual as MOST Red, Silver, Yellow and SMG cars suffer from this.

My own Spider turbo is like it, as painted plastic and painted metal over time lose lustre differently.

There was also a very small ding) about 2mm in dia) on one of the headlight covers, which I said would be repaired.

Luke was of the opinion that this warranted a complete frontal respray which I didn't want to do as from previous experience, silver on a 9 year old car is very difficult to match exactly. What I said was that I couldn't/wouldn't guarantee a perfect colour match due to the fact that I felt Luke was going to be a hard man to please as he was/is picky.

Now the rub.

The reason he's peed off with me, which he hasn't mentioned, is that he rang and said he wanted the car DESPITE the above

- re the paint and I gave him my best offer.

He said he'd think about it and let me know.

He called a couple of days later to say he'd have the car, however in the meantime I sold it

(at the same deal as offered to Luke) and I could tell that he was racked off.

He thought I was just saying it and asked if I had received a deposit and if the deal fell thru he'd have the car.

One last point.

If I'm such a bad/difficult and expensive guy to deal with why on earth come back for pics of another of my cars?? Now the real reason behind my reluctance to bend over backwards for Luke

(even though he works for Toyota) is

- I didn't want to sell him a car and didn't want to be rude and tell him so.
