Ok, lets calm this down a little bit. Anna and I went over to TB on Saturday morning to discuss the organisers moving everything around at the last minute, and we said it would be fine to put a sign onto the stand so that people know where you'd been moved to, since we're all mr2 owners, and share a lot of members anyway.

None of the IMOC or ROC admin team moved the sign, and I can't imagine any of the mk1 club doing it either. I also can't imagine why a member of any of those clubs would vandalise it either.

I'd also like to say thanks to Paul and Nic, who we met for the first time on Saturday morning - the real PW, that madman with the 1.5s.. in the flesh :)

I'd like to call enough to this now, we'll try and work together for JAE2007, since there is nothing to be gained from going our seperate ways again.

Totally agree =D> as for anyones face not fitting in the club ? well thats news to me :? weve got to be the friendliest club around IMO, ive experienced very cliquey clubs in the past so i should know. Toni, Anna & Lauren will tell you ive had some falling out with them in the past regarding moderation on the forum, but we all had a great chat/laugh with no backstabbing whatsoever, in fact they worked tirlessly over the weekend & have my upmost respect for what they did for us all. Just my point of view :thumleft: , Jinxy

Sorry - I have to respond to this.
If you are leveling this accusation at me, then I am very much offended. I do not lie, I do not 'back stab'. The only reason i'm a committee member of IMOC is to help out other mr2 owners. Equally i'm all for relationships between other clubs. I went to the trouble of organising a trackday at Anglesey earlier in the year that was attended by IMOC, ROC, and mk1club members. This took a lot of my time, but was absolutely ace, and great fun and I personally made a load of new friends. I would have loved JAE to be an event where we could have done the same with Two brutal, but it was TB that didn't want to know. How on earth am I responsible for your problems? How am I supposed to know what you want if you don't tell me? (From some posts from some of your members on the TB forum, I didn't know if TB wanted to be as far away as possible from IMOC/mk1 club, or within the 'village') I AM NOT PSYCHIC! I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR PLOT, I AM NOT THE JAE ORGANISER!

It is not my decision as to where you guys end up. I don't have anything against you, but if you are accusing me of lying and being two faced, then I do have a problem. All I have done is try and help a fellow mr2 club. All I get for my trouble of asking Nik and Paul about being part of the stand is grief.... Why do I bother if all I get is grief from things that are completely out of my control?

I know the events people from MR2ROC and Mk1 club, and IMOC very well, and it's safe to say that all of my post above, 'I' can be replaced with Stu, Mark, Tom, Jo, etc etc.

Here - i'll be 100% transparent to you:

anna wrote:Hi Claire,
I've not spoken to you before, but I am a committee member from IMOC-UK and will be attending JAE this year.
I have just seen the new provisional layout, and am more than a little concerned. I hope you will be able to provide me some information, as we have bouncy castles and gazebos, and a camping area that seem to be hanging in the balance.

First point is that I'm not happy to have only one side road to access our pitch. This will make it firstly extremely difficult for members to find, and secondly, very difficult to arrange our three clubs on the plot.
I propose that a compromise could be made from our original plot assignment to lose the are where the Honda revs have moved to, but not include the civic sports/ or almera. We may be able to include two brutal into our plot if they are happy to co-operate with us, but that would have to be subject to confirmation.

Please can you confirm the area of the plot (shown on the map having IMOC/ROC/Mk1/Two brutal/Civic sports/Almera on atm) in metres squared, and for comparison, can you also tell me the area of the plot that IMOC and ROC had last year (where 300's and GTO's are this year?). I need to be able to compare to last year to see if it going to work - we really couldn't do with any less!

Can I also make a suggestion. Why not move Civics and Almeras across the road to the long stay camping green area? (which might still allow us the camping area right at the back of our stand that was agreed?).

Regards,
Anna Newberry
IMOC committee

claire wrote:Hi Anna,

Thank you for your email below. I have addressed this already with Mark Jones MR2ROC Committee and had a further phone conversation today also with another committee member.

I have arranged to move the two clubs (Civic sports & Almera) to another position.

I hope this is satisfactory

Claire

Pm to Paul:

Hi Paul,
You have probably already seen the new JAE layout, and I know that Jo (mk1 club) approached you a couple of months ago about joining us in the mr2 'village' with mk1 club, ROC, and IMOC, but seeing as you guys have been moved into the same area, I just thought i'd ask to see how you want to proceed.

Two ideas spring to mind:
1. Join forces with us! We are effectively dividing the plot into sections around a central area. The sections will be an area for each clubs members, and in the centre the plan is to put gazebos so that everyone can congregate in the middle. A strip across the back is planned for camping so that those who want to go to bed early can do so with some peace and quiet, whilst everyone else can watch movies/play playstation/have a go on the bouncy boxing etc without disturbing those asleep!

2. Do your own thing - and fence off a chunk in the corner. I guess this is only going to be approx 27x27m?

Let me know what you guys want to do - and sorry if Toni's already asked you!

Cheers,
Anna

Another miscommunication a couple of months ago was that mk1 club had booked Two brutals plot.
Thursday, claire said this to Stu (MR2ROC)

Hi Stuart,

I will have to come back to you on the dimensions of the Two Brutal stand.

Rest assured that the MR2 village will be clearly defined as will Two Brutal's. Two Brutals never said they wanted a joint stand with the rest of the MR2's. It was me that placed them there, following my first communications with the MR2 Mk1 who didn't object and was rather positive with having them next door.

Kindest regards
Claire

Cant argue with that =D> its there for all to see, i think its time we moved on from this & start to build plans for a hopefully combined stand for JAE2007, basically from what ive heard & not just from the MR2 community, organisation was very poor, & this sounds like Clair xxxxx up big time & tried to hash it over at the last minute, just look at the balls up at the "show & shine !!!" i can understand TB getting rather pi$$ed off by the whole affair, but lads i think its pointed at the wrong people to be honest, Jinxy

Well said Anna.

Personally, I feel it was down to poor communications from the JAE organisers with regard to the stands (and it has to be said, they were very badly handled in the days before JAE) and also club members jumping to conculsions given only part of the story.

That doesn't have to be the case - Anna's post above is very clear.

What I would like to do is move on to look ahead to events like JAE 2007 and further IMOC trackdays. We certainly would like to work with Two Brutal on those.

Pete J wrote:On the club 'village' situation, whilst it's great to get all the MR2 variants together in 1 place from a social point of view, the inherent danger is that an extremely large 1 car gathering will be pushed into the outer boundries of the showground as it lacks the diverse variety of Japanese cars that event organisers want visitors to experience as they walk around the 'busy' areas, hence reducing IMHO the profile of the car. It happens to the Scoobies already!

:-k interesting point - i hadn't thought of it like that.
On the whole i think it worked though

I think this is aimed at me.
Here goes:
Mr Dix wanted to enter into the JAE show and shine, but the entries were already made before he arrived on pitch.
In our club info i asked for people to let me know if they were interested, as i had to make entries early on in the day. I was not contacted by him for this, and sadly then it was too late by the time he asked. I understand he was peed off that he missed out.
I can't think for other people - they have to be pro-active and sort themselves out, as you all know i was very busy and the JAE show and shine was a rushed entry.
not bad cars i chose though, as our mk1 sc won best toyota and best concourse (john upsall)
next year Mr DIx....?

PS: what on earth do you mean re: the back stabbing and lies? first i've heard.
we didn't have time for idle gossip.

Was great to finnaly meet Nik from TB. (missed you paul)
reassured him that there is no bad blood between mk1 club and TB, or between any other club for that matter.
I would like to point out again that I personally was the first person to invite 2B to our mr2 village, so of course we wouldn't mind them there.

the 2b stand was cool - and as i keep saying, when tango goes bang it will be getting a turbo lump in there (so don't want to shoot myself in the foot)

ROC IMOC and MK1 were all in agreement all the way with all the planning and ideas, etc - no one club was dictating to the other
all in all the collaberation worked out well.

PS there was a rubble pile at the back of camping near mk1 end - it looked like it had been flattened or removed.
