lol :D
Thanks everyone. I'm well pleased! Although now I've done most of the 'bolt on' mods, I'm gonna have to spend more money chasing 12.5!

Another thing I find amusing is the really special compound tyres that Luke's using at the moment in order to get those quarter mile times, remind me again mate what they are

The guys over at Roque Systems have been most helpful. Plans are in motion to get to the bottom of my little problem. Tests are underway and a possible solution on the strength of those tests will be soon to follow :)

But even so, i'm still happy with my time over all :D When you think how many thousends the top players lay down just to cover the 1/4 in 10. something sec's, were not doing to badly really

hi Mike..
good to see Rogue are willing to help with your CC concerns... it puts my mind at ease what with an impending Tubby Conversion in March..

(Patrick - if you read this it's not to say I have any real concerns - just always nice to see positive feedback - of which I based my choice on - ie your company will be doing mine)

keep up the good development work everyone - by the time I'm ready to start playing for real I'll know exactly what to do ! haha 8) :D

You can rest assured that all that Patrick & Matt at Roque Systems do to your car will be spot on Franky. I regret not letting them carry out two major jobs now that were done elso where!

Even in the case of the c/c they are more than willing to help me out and work together with me to come up with a solution :) IMHO we could do with more MR2 friendly companys such as them

Bloody hell, that makes Luke time even better as his spent nowt

Personally If i'd spent the sort of money a lot of people have only to get beat by a very standard 'ish' mr2 I'd hang up my boots and put my money else where before my pants get pulled down in public again

Hows that saying go? walk the walk or something like that

It's all relative if you think about it. To knock off 1/2 a second off of a 1/4 mile time needs a lot of extra power combined with a good launch. With where my car is at the moment even with the fact that it's not pushing right. I should have been able to get it to cover the 1/4 in the low 12's with the right launch and following gear changes.

So if you where to compare what I had spent compared to what luke had spent, yes, I have spent a fare deal more than him to allow my car to cover the 1/4 maybe 1 second faster!

But if you were to compare what someone running the 1/4 in say the low 11's had spent compared to me for example. It would also seem mad to think that they had spent so much more simply to knock off 1 second from their time!

Carry this way of looking at things one stage further and you will have yourself one of the fastest cars in the country!

Yes Mike I see what you mean, I was just underlining what an amazing time that was for luke.
My comment was meant literally to all big money spenders who think coz they have spent big $ doesn't mean they will ever be any good when along side anyone with talent. I'd also like to state I don't put myself in the talent bracket.
Not in a straight line anyway, I know where my strengths are and its not how fast I can thrash my car in a straight line.

I'm sure the big hitters on this site have come to understand the more money you spend and the more power you have the more it shows up a lack off talent because the car is harder to drive. It may be faster but its harder to get the best out of your car.

I'd like to see what time Luke could do in a car with more power, so I'll put my money where my mouth is and do what no one else will do. I'll do my first ever 1/4 run at the next meet and then I'll let Luke do an run in my car and see how the times work out. I think he could beat me on my first run in the same car.

Luke, can you keep my car in a straight line

why thanks you John

I think he could beat me on my first run in the same car.

maybe the first run, but I'm sure you'll soon catch on 8)

but again, same car but on a track, and you'd hand me my ass in a doggy bag.

Very true, like the first bhp increases are cheap, but squeezing the last few £££

Thing for me is, anymore improvements on the time are gonna cost.

Oh, and bry, my success with wheel tyre combo's came with stock rims, a bridgestone S03 on the rear right, and a nankang on the rear left.
An awesome combo I'm sure you'll agree :D

Well Done Luke.

Shame I didn't get to meet up with you lot, forgot my lience so I didn't get around to doing a run until very late.

Still got to do a few runs today, and being the first time at the strip, was very pleased with my time, infact i'll post up a video of my run when I get around to it :)

I must say was great fun running down the drag strip, really more people should try it. Ok so there isn't any corners and it's not like track racing, buts not as expensive or as hard going on your car and, you really do get to see what your car can do. Don't have to worry about police, other traffic, children.

You can just go there really launch your car off the line, and know your having real races against the person besides you.

Hey John I see what your saying there mate :) I also agree to a point. The trouble is that every time you make a big jump in the power department it takes a little time to get to grips with the car again. I had no clue how to launch the thing with the new turbo in place but felt when I had left that I had learned more :)

That said, nothing can be taken away from Luke as his time is really quite amazing given the bad levels of grip on the day. Hats of to you Luke

got a funny feeling everyone is fairly impressed with your time mate!!

You know what they say for everyone getting pleasure there is someone getting pain???.....well, while you were running your 12.9 i was sneezing, which jolted my steering wheel as i pulled up at my house. Not sure what came out worse, the deep kerb or my 4 week old alloys!!!! front left is kerbed all around the rim, and a chunk out the tyre edging. F*&KING MARVELLOUS!!!
