Re: What is it about the '2'
the supension on the EVO is still the same as 90% of road cars is it not, nothing special or anything
, just alot of electronics and crap.
No challange

Id count on my MR2 p1$$ing on you on a track anyday, and so would my Tiger Cat
on a tight and twisty track
(only got a old Ford Twin Cam
) Like I said it my first post, ON LUMPY B roads or tight A roads the EVO would win
, As the Mr2
(mk2 anyway
) is not a A or B Road car.

Proper AWD Sports car with a Track setup is a GT-R Skyline.

Re: What is it about the '2'
the skyline GTR is very impressive on track! i have a few best motoring DVD's and the skyline with 280bhp can see off cars and keep up with some super cars with over 300bhp!

very impressive, i'd probably go for a skyline once bored of the MR2 in years to come, probably got for the GTS-T though as GTR insurance is mental!
failing that i'd go for an evo or failing that
*sigh* a scoob hehe.
nothing wrong with MR2's, scoobs or evo's mind love them all in there own little way! just a shame scoobs are the new cossies round my way

Nope.

Well I do note that your new forum is a lovely shade of pink.

Yeah, and as long as the only racing you actually do is on paper you'll never have the indignity of being proven wrong

The Skyline has 10 times the electrics that the EVO does and all of a sudden it's a proper car?? LOL!!!!

Re: What is it about the '2'
personally i think evo's are very rapid in a straight line and around a track.
their ayc works wonders around the twisties.

however, they are expensive to run mpgwise and with their tendency to warp brake discs.

at the end of the day even though i love the performance, i would never buy an evo because its looks are very average.
sorry if that offends anyone, just my opinion.

Maybe you could explain what electrics the car has and how it corrects things?

The EVO equiv of the MR2 is about the EVO III.

Pretty similar in price but the EVO III again has better handling.

Active YAW control, intellegent torque splitters, TCS

Who cares, theres a chap round my way with a EVO 5

Hellboy wrote:Active YAW control, intellegent torque splitters, TCS, SS

It has Active Yaw Control, not sure about intelligent torque splitters.

Hellboy wrote:Who cares

You are saying the EVO is fast cos of all the electrics and that there is no challenge.

Re: What is it about the '2'
NO mate, what im saying is a EVO is a quick CAR
, junk the elecronics and all that jazz, and you would need to be a very skilled driver to drive it the same as you drive it now.
Same goes for a SKYLINE

The Mr2 is a Raw car with none of that fancy crap, hence to me is a more rewarding drive

Ok well mainly the AYC, this if i remember right basically monitors the'actual' course of travel relative to the
'intended' course of travel.
without this it would handle with loads of understeer!

that i don't believe! the early evo's were pants! lacked power too compared to later ones.would still be close though i reckon

Maybe compared to later ones but they still had 260 BHP and 4WD.

Re: What is it about the '2'
Lads, why don't you settle this by comparing knobs?

But you've never driven the EVO so how do you know what it drives like?

No contest there, mine is massive.

Re: What is it about the '2'
Good grief.

Can you buy an evo for a few hundred quid? Will it be cheap to insure and run? Will it do 140'000miles+ before it gives up?

Just out of interest

of course, you just have to look at how many old evo's are on the roads.

Re: What is it about the '2'
As I previously said my 2 takes all the Evo's and Scoob's that have tried it on when driving around.
True enough thats mainly on
"private roads" that are pretty straight but hey, my car costs a third of a cheap new Evo or Scoob.
As for AYC, active centre diff's etc, all well and good but who cares? My GT-S is ten years old, doesnt have ABS, no traction control, no fancy snow button
- just 3 pedals and a 5 speed box.
I've driven it hard and so far so good Ive not lost control.

By the way I am sitting across from Evo_Fraz from the MLR who says your a bit of a
"fanny" and regularly cause users on the Mitsi forum endless hassle with your ramblings.
If you own an Evo why are you here with the superiority complex annoying MR2 owners?

Re: What is it about the '2'
As far as im aware the EVO is around the same weight
, perhaps just a little heavier than the MR2, it certainly isn't as heavy as the equivalent Scooby.
As for handling, any standard
EVO would have ANY standard MR2 for breakfast andl unch.
At the end of the day the evo has 4 wheels pulling you in a direction, but the Mister two has.
.
.well two

As for handling, any standard
