Post by jimGTS »

right hit a snag when trying to put this together the other day.
the little nipple twisty thing just didnt fit round the big metal thing (sorry for the krude naming).

it screwed on a tiny bit, but then wouldnt budge!
im pretty sure it has to screw up the whole way.

help!

what the fook kinda boost gauge is that?!?

Mine just had a gauge, a pipe, and two wires

I'd have thought the gold metal (little twisty nipple thing) screws into the back of the gauge, and the black tuning plumbs into that, with a cable tie.

I have no clue what the other bits are, so I could be very, very wrong. :?

It doesn't screw "all" the way on.

You need to get 2 open ended spanners and just screw it up as tight as it'll go (as mine looked a bit like this) and this is what I did. Works all well now, so can only presume thats what yours does.

BTW... mine didn't tighten up all the way up, it had a about 4 threads left showing.

i tried using spanners to get it on. it would only go so far.

you sure i can get away with this, as the inner part of the brass nipple is exactly the same length as the part its screwing onto.
if i do it as tight as itll go, it obviously leaves a gap between the end of the nut and the inner nipple. surely this isnt right?

Oh right... I don't know then.

As mine didn't have anything apart from a small part like that, that screwed onto the sender unit. To be honest, if you screw it up and connect it together and it doesn't work.. then something is wrong.

I'm gathering it didn't come with instructions... mine did but they were a joke. Just a very poor wiring diagram, and a drawing of how the parts go together...

If you like I'll take some pics of how mine is set up (as it looks fairly similar (although I have a digital gauge) and post them up on friday (as I'm not in work 2mo)

Pics as promised mate.

You can see that my sender consisted of 3 different brass bits, which aren't done up "all" the way, but are damn tight! lol
