Hooray! we now have a date and meeting place! Worked out that I am roughly 100 miles from the meeting point so its probably best to aim to meet up early afternoon 12-12:30. Is this ok with everyone or do you want to meet up earlier/later?
Cheers :D

Just looking over Toms map and directions which look exellent by the way. So then are we driving to Tatton Park from the pub? This would be a great drive but we would probably have to extend it a bit to get back to the original meeting point or just have a second final stop near to Tatton or wherever we stop. Will this be a circular route starting and finishing in the same place, or, will this be a drive from point 1 to point 2. Either is great but if we want to cover some mileage and see some sights then a circular route is probably the right choice. Does this make sence (I have a bad hangover so excuse any bad spelling etc)!!
Cheers

Really sorry people, but i'm having a nightmare today trying to update my Dad's website and i don't think i will be finished until midnight or much later

Will sort out a proper map and route tomorrow. It wasn't my intention to go all the way to Tatton, the road from Macclesfield to Tatton is boring.

Basically route is Ripley - Ambergate - Wirksworth (meet with anyone else who want to attend) - Middleton - Buxton - Macclesfield - Leek - Ashbourne - Carsington Water - Wirksworth

Will definitely sort this out properly tomorrow......come what may

looks like there should be 5 or 6 of us. my mates not gonna beable to make it in his supra as he had a little incident

he took his car to get it moted ready to be registered and on the way back his bonnet pins failed on him causing his £800 pound carbon bonnet to fly up smash his wind screen, stove his roof in and snap in two.

hes not very happy to say the least.

Funny you should mention that Dan (blue2): Here we go: :D

Double-click pic
Image

Edit: Oh dear, it's not that clear at this resolution :(

Here's my route: Ripley - Ambergate - Alderwashley - Wirksworth - Middleton - Pikehall - Harpur Hill - Cat and Fiddle - Outskirts of Macclesfield - Return on other road up to Cat and Fiddle pub - follow the route back to Wirksworth. Time dependent we could divert off round Carsington Water and pop into the Visitors Centre - then Atlow - Turnditch - Shottlegate - Belper - Ripley.

Now Dan this route is a pain for you. What about this - Why don't you join us for half the run? What I mean is you could follow my route down to Wirksworth and meet us there. Then we do the run up to Macclesfield and you could carry on Liverpool. Otherwise this is gonna be a mammoth journey for you!

Opinions please...

I know its nowt to do with me but why dont you do the return leg on the A6 taking in bakewell on the way then at Ashford turn off and drive through Chatsworth park( get some exellent pics here) then Rowsley and on to DarleyDale then Matlock, see a bit more scenery and I think better drive and you dont cover the same road twice

Cheers Kevin, see what you mean :D . I'm open to suggestions, but I do agree with you (Oh Kevin, now you've given me a load more work to do! ](*,) ) Anyway we've got a bit of time. All I do know is my route to Macc is top fun. I've refined it a few times!

Ok, if everyone's agreed on the basic route I will amend it.

Alex, the weather might be rubbish though! I hope not and hopefully next year we can organise a big one with loads of cars earlier in the year! :D

WOW route looks fantastic. I really want to drive this entire route but Im not sure how many miles its going to be. I do know that its around 100miles from my house to Derbyshire and Im not bothered about that, it doesnt look that far mabye another 70miles so all in all im looking at around 300miles round trip. If so thats fine, the lakes run was around 270.

Dan,

I'll try and work it all out. Because this map has been done in AutoCAD I can easily work out how far the route is and from RAC route planner how far it is for you to get to Wirksworth.

Any more takers?
