drive through derbyshire sat 29th oct- PICS INSIDE

Post by hicks »

hi all,

me and spittinflames decided to meet up a few weeks ago as were wernt to far apart and belper is pretty much smack bang in the middle. would anyone else be interested in this and if so do you know any good spot were we can meet without any nobs in ther novas coming over and acting like idiots.

i was thinking first or second sunday of next month and if we get a few people there then make it a regular thing.

id also like to have a little drive round aswell as theres some fantastic roads round this area. maybe head up to ashbourne over to matlock bath and back down to belper again.

so far theres 3 of us

hicks
spittinflames
rob (supra)

ill have a word with my mate and see if there are a few supra owners and his brother has an integra so maybe get him to come down aswell but i dont want to get to many people coming as it just attracts the plod.

let me know your thoughts

regards

alex.

Sunday may be a problem, because it may clash with the Mk1Club Loughborough meets. I'll put my name down as provisional.

I may come to this (not too far)
It dosen't clash with MK1 meet - this is the last sunday of each month, so you doing 1st or 2nd sunday would be fine :D

How about meeting at Belper then driving up the A6 past Matlock and Bakewell, then getting on the A515 back down to Derby. Looks like a really scenic route and nice roads. Matlock, from what I remeber is a really nice place, we could all meet their instead and go up to Bakewell. Just checked it out on Multimap, its not a very long drive but would pass some nice places. Is distance an issue, how far do you guys want to drive?? :D

i dont mind driving a resonable distance. maybe stop off at a few places along the way. matlock get very busy with bikers on sundays and end up with alot of police presence but there are some nice roads around there especially if you head over towards buxton. not really sure what time to arrange it as dont want to get caught up with slow sunday drivers.

I couldnt make it too early as I would be driving from Merseyside (about 100 milles) So I could get their for early afternoon, basically anytime after 12ish would be fine with me. The Sunday drivers wil prpbably be out at 4ish for afternoon tea so we could hopefully avoid them!

So are we going to come to a firm place to meet? Could meet at buxton , belper , Matlock. All nice places with good roads.... Buxton has the cat and fiddle :) Matlock does get full of biker's normally go there with my m8 on bike's.

Need a firm place and date setting now..... as time's ticking on.

Could just meet at belper then do the Belper/matlock/buxton run........some nice places to stop off on the way to take photo's / hav a drink n bite to eat etc. It's about a 50mile run (1hr). Or is that to far ?? Sound good :?

ooh if you are going toward buxton, that must mean going to the Cat & Fiddle. I happen to live at the bottom of this road, so would be happy to pop up providing i'm not working.
