Productive day on Friday at Rogue Motorsport!!

Finally got round to having my new OS Giken twin plate R2CD clutch and CRW axle cage upgrade installed!!
Big thanks to Matt and Dan for carrying out the work and getting it all done in a day.

I've been weighing up fitting these myself for a while but I'm glad I didnt attempt the clutch on the driveway on my own as they run into a couple of issues that would have left me stumped! Main one being the flywheel bolt heads had been grinded down to fit the previous clutch

(ogura single plate).

Which made getting a socket on them a nightmare.

Ended up having to weld nuts on top to get them off.

Also while everything was off.

Had some Redline CV2 grease for the cages and some new Millers CRX gearbox oil.

Initial impressings on the drive home, very bitey! Less slippage window for sure, and when it catchs, you know it.

Will take a little getting used too, but I wast expecting the clutch to be lighter than the single plate and surprisingly a quieter rattle when it's disengaged too!
But it certainly is a more on/off clutch than the ogura.

Had a chance for a run out yesterday in the dry

(friday was a monsoon wash out!), along with some decent boost, boy the clutch grabs the engine by its neck and yanks it forward, love it.

Really does snap into gear.

Placebo effect maybe, but feels like engines holding more power, wouldn't be surprising really given how old the ogura clutch was and the use it had over the last few years.

The old flywheel and plate showed signs of a lot of heat and on one side of the plate it had worn down on the edges to the bone.

Done me well, but looks like it was indeed on its last legs so perfect time for a change.

When OS Giken clutch showed up from Japan!
Thanks to Greenline motorsports for sourcing the clutch, only took 9 days from payment to delivery, very happy with the service.

Friday at Rogue, 5am start for me and a 2.5-3hr drive in the monsoon weather we had!

Old clutch

Welded nuts to get some of the flywheel bolts off

Beauty to go on

Uprated cages along with some Redline CV2 race grease

Old clutch in the light of day

Some new tyres to source for the rear, and looks like I'll be ready to hit the 1/4 again.

Depending on how I get on with the 20b, will depend if I go bigger or even consider fitting the st205cc I have tucked away.

Oh, almost forgot, also trying out a Apexi SAFC2 as suggested by the Rob and 2mad.

I've been playing around with fuel pressure again along with the new SAFC and seems I may have a compromise to my low down lean condition.

Watch this space.
