Anything and everything to do with maintenance, modifications and electrical is in here for the Mk2.
Does the standard ECU limit my potential power output?
Is 250bhp realistic with following mods - - HKS Mushroom - Mongoose exhuast no cat - FCD - Pro Spec II b boost controller - XS 4" Intercooler
Ive herd it is best to block it off... If u seach for TVSV Im sure it will b about.. Intrested to see what hp u get as im in the middle of building my rev1 tubby with similar mods
Guys my boost controller allows me to hit 1.1/1.2bar on the low setting.
Is this ok on a Rev1?
Ive no way of knowing if clutch or Pistons have been upgraded by the last owner.

Fuel maps stop at about 16psi so you're at the limit if ecu capabilities.
TVIS needs gutting/blocking off at 300/320bhp or more.
Ah ok, would hate to think what happened when the last owner selected hi boost!
Is there a picture of steps regarding blocking TVIS? Not that I think I nd it at my bhp?

This is far to much for a daily driver .
Just pull the hose and cap it off to the tvis.. leaves it open
The vsv just remove the hose from the actuator and cap it off .

bu88er, whys this too much for a daily mate?(slightly worried now, lol)
That sounds a lot less work, does that do the same thing as what Pete suggested?
Stock headgasket for one.. xs power intercooler will still heat soak quite quick (mine did) so you'll be pushing lots of boost for not much reward.
I used to run my ct20b @1.1bar with water/meth , the car felt great , turn it off and heat soak big drop in power
Just my 2p sure plenty of people are running 1.1 bar i just wouldnt recommend it.
IMR2T wrote:Ah, ok.
I've not changed any settings since I bought the car.
You think I should turn it down till I get it set up by someone I know?
IMHO, i wouldn't worry about it. As long as you're aware of the risks of running an engine/drivetrain at more than 50% of it's original maximum boost, go out and enjoy it.
I've turned it down for now.
It feels so slow
I'm keen to build a stronger engine and get a an lsd Rev3 gearbox at a later stage but as it's my main car I'll ease of till I'm closer to building a replacement engine.

Personally my settings for your mods would be 0.8 bar low and 0.95 high .. these are relatively safe settings and what i run my st205 gt4 on now , till i beef up my cooling then i'll push a bit higher .
The weak link on a rev 1 is the headgasket when increasing boost .
