Cars fixed.

Turned out i got the crank timing mark wrong.

There's a very fine line on the rim of the crank. I was using the notch the the crank pulley locates and slides over.

Should have asked Peter in more detail about the timing marks. Feel like a right d*ck and £300 lighter.

Although with the checks carried out on all electrical systems and the engine running spot on I ca now free off the brakes and get the mot sorted.

Big thanks goes out to all the guys on here who helped out. I do appreciate it :thumleft:

great news man!! Seen a guy out in a rev1 tubo with the t-bars out today, I was in my diesel volvo estate so was pretty jealous :D :D

Regarding your £300, At least you're out in the car and it's not having a dud engine hauled out of it, Forget the money and just be glad your not having to go through the summer without it :thumleft:

True man :thumleft:

Front brakes are binding, hopefully that's just the sliders, bang on a lower ball joint and the summers ON!

I whipped the engine out at the end of the year to put forged pistons in etc...Been waiting a while on the block getting back but I collected it last night so all systems are go :) Just need to rebuild it and get it back in the car etc.

A tip: make sure you use the right grease on your brake sliders, normal grease eats rubber and will make them worse (apologies if that teaching you to suck eggs!); glad she's running again! :thumleft:

good advice, I put down a lot of the sticking issues down to folk not using the right stuff, I've never had a sticky caliper issue on a Mr2.

Mate that would be epic! Was really close to getting a Rev 2 engine to put into mine, then rebuild mine to a reliable 350bhp.

Will def get a swatch at your thread :thumleft:

110psi is low, it should be at least 150psi across all four, but the fact you have a consitent 110psi makes me think the cambelt isn't timed properly, which in turn throws your ignition timing way out.....

Take the top cover off the belt and take some pics of the pulleys and also a pic of the crank pulley on TDC at the same time, something's not right there.

So i was bang on :thumleft:
