1 out of 3 need removing. The other two absolutely no need.

Right I am going to guess that i can get away with just taking the downpipe off?

Only reason for taking the mani off and turbo was to get better access maybe, plus could fix broken studs/bolts and maybe fit the shiney stainless manifold maybe.

Holding off tho, till my local resident expert has a look with me.

Ta for the advice chaps! :thumleft:

Or are you saying there is something inside the downpipe thats sticking?

Yes, the valve inside the turbo can jam up inside the down pipe. Take the down pipe off.

Agreed .. spend your money on a intercooler and bov .. manifolds a waste of time and effort bud .. trust imoc on this ... you'd just be setting your self up for disappointment :(

Not to worry I can sling it back on ebay as new.

Already got a larger intercooler with fan(bought of seller for 40quid yet to fit) and car already has an aftermarket BOV.

Anyone want to buy a eggo manifold? finest stainless steel shiney'ness

Maybe if i can re sell the stainless manifold i can reinvest in a better decat.

Also want a manual boost controler, you know these ones on ebay

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BLUE-Manual-b ... 259f4ac449

Are they ok?
I dont want or rather am not bothered about a fancy digital job, but if you have one of these, how do you know what pressure your running? :-k

You need to fit an accurate boost gauge when running an mbc

BTW i am going to sneek in a little wanted ad.

I think I'd like a set of OEM 15" alloys ideally with good tyres if anyone has a set sleeping in a garage or shed.

Cash waiting.

If your getting a mbc get one from gts chris there a bit more than the ebay ones but plenty of people have used them without issue.

As kev said if your increasing boost you need a decent quality boost gauge, personally i prefer the omori (i think) gauge that fits in place of the stock boost gauge

If i dont want to increase my boost can i just do without a manual boost controller then>?

I just wanted one and a gauge to check what the car is running at.

Mate, you really are better getting the thing running 100% before so much as changing a headlight bulb. Don't modify anything whatsoever until you have the running issue sorted first, once you do, give the car a proper service maybe even get used to how it handles/drives/stops etc then think about boost controllers and the like :thumleft:

If you dont want to increase boost then dont fit a controller. If you want to check what boost the car is running then i would fit a gauge. The standard one doesnt really tell you anything.

I have a gts chris manual boost controller available if you want one.

Before doing all this though I would still be checking compression and timing etc before going further

Good advice chaps, not going to fit anything new untill got this boost problem sorted.
Should have it done this week, providing the diagnosed stuck wastegate actuator is the only cause of the problem, could be a combination of a few things that need looking into.

So job order is
test actuator with a compressor air feed,
If waste gate isnt moving, whip off downpipe and see if it needs fettling.
check and adjust timing.
And i ordered a new compression tester last week so will be checking that to.

Then its new plugs, oil change+filter, coolant change, will check gearbox oil and change if old, bleed all brakes maybe drain brake system and refill/bleed.

And that should do me for a week or two

Thinking of getting a new set of wheels tho, as 2 of the tyres on the car are reay for swapping plus i really like that stock 15"wheels.

Why sneak a wanted ad?

There's a whole forum here:

http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewforum.php?f=15

If you were thinking you had to pay Premium Membership to place a wated ad, then you don't. You need that to sell.

IMHO, i'm surprised you haven't bought Premium Membership considering the number of posts you've got going on this forum, expecting other members to help you.
