injector removal

Post by Leemeg99 »

Hi I think I have narrowed my fault to a blocked injector.
Please, has anyone got a simple solution or if it has to come out what is the best way to go about itmany thanks

Taking injectors out isn't hard you just take the pipes off right back to the intake manifold the injectors are then directly below if memory serves it is 3 or 4 bolts undo them making sure you don't drop the little spacers. You'll remove the whole fuel rail. Then undo the fuel feed and return making sure you block them off to the fuel tank then you can get the injectors tested.. easy peasy.

Also i'd block the holes left by the injectors with something making sure it doesn't drop inside just so you don't get anything falling in there.

injector removal

Post by Leemeg99 »

hi i have removed the air intake manifold and i'm now at the point of looking at the injectors .the injector 4 which is causing all the problems looks as if it's been a bodge in the past and has a joint in the lead, the wires appear to be connected the wrong way round, would that stop the injector from firing
many thanks

Yes it would stop the injector from firing due to the polarity of the injector being changed.
