Hi Sheppy,

Not 100% sure on this but i had just fitted a 2nd hand standard acuator, I get the feeling this failed kept the wastegate closed hence building so much boost so quickly.

Everything will be fully inspected by Peter once he has the car though :thumleft:

From what i gather Peter will be treating this like a Surgical procedure inspecting every last component and we will be replacing anything we have the slightest concerns about.

No cutting any corners even it takes 6 months I want it to be perfect.

Not a nice thing to happen at all buddy.

Hopefully get to the bottom of it and have it sorted and back in business for the good weather coming back :)

I totally forgot you already had forged pistons in there! Makes our diagnosis of ringlands seem unlikely afterall :-k

Interested to see what Peter finds when he strips it, but just remember- there is a queue in his workshop [-X

New toys \:D/

Where are you planning to mount the "cooler pipe"? I'm guessing you are using it as well as a radiator?

Front mounted radiator and plan to use the cooler pipe between the turbo and where the pipe work will go through the boot wall (hot side).

Front mounted rad :thumleft:

Cooler pipe in the engine bay?? Keen to see how you get on, I can imagine it acting as a heat soaker instead of a cooler if you get it in the wrong place :-k

Interesting idea though :thumleft:

Ashley I supose its a trial and error but in theory it should act like a heat sync and keep it cooler than a sandard straight piece of pipe, will have to see.
