Hadnt thought about JAE mate. I wanted to go to Japfest, didnt make that. I am meant to be going to Japfest 2 at Donington instead but there hasnt been much interest from anyone with it on here, I need to get it out and about a bit though when it`s taxed! Time for some fun with it.

Bad news... They managed to smash the front bumper on their ramp! So the car is back at 3S still, having the front end re-painted at the M.O.T centres expense!

At least now it has M.O.T I can get insurance and tax sorted whilst I wait. :D

Glad car passed MOT mate, as for bumper, I had exactly the same thing on my previous 2. Had it fully repainted black, then the garage that MOT'd it damaged the bumper while in their care. Was fuming, so know how you feel bud.

I know mate I just want it back now! Ha! There`s 1 advisory note on the M.O.T. Not sure if 3S have just gone ahead and sorted it yet, need to ask James I`d rather it has everything totally 100% before it comes home! No niggles.

Just realised my car has been off the road for ten months and covered less than 600 miles between it`s last M.O.T in 2011 to this one! lol!

Drove it back on Saturday, 145 miles home never missed a beat. Gearbox is tight, clutch feels great, brakes well, goes really well. gave it a quick wash when I got home and took a few pictures, I`m chuffed with it. `Track Veilside`. Get`s some funny comments/looks/stares/kids shouting `woaa look at that car..!` Others probably saying `look at that idiot in the giant micro machine` Haha! Crazy kit but it`s all good fun! Been beautiful weather all weekend too, T-Bars off! :thumleft: :D!

Hmm. Took some real good photos with the nikon and imagshack is scaling them down? Like the ones above.

Anyway, polished the car up yesterday and it looks pretty smart now. Some photos from my phone below. JDM have done a great job with the paint, my passenger side headlight needs some fettling it`s sitting slightly out of line and sitting proud it`s bugging me so I will rectify this next weekend, and the fibreglass bonnet needs some bonnet pins. I have seen some `quick release` ones I havnt ordered them yet. But front to back of the car paintwork is spot on, best it`s ever been!

Yeah it`s miles better mate. I`m going to tint the windows and that will be job done for the look I wanted. It goes really well, I`ve had the car out and about took a trip up to Nottingham and it pulls like a train. The pictures don't really do it justice, it grabs a lot of attention now that`s for sure!

The best one was some four year old who pointed at it as I was sitting at some traffic lights, `daddy look that`s a racecar` haha! Then a drunkard shouted `mate your car`s xxxx`... I was like.. No it isn't lol  :thumleft: Clearly not a Veilside fan.

Years ago in my previous '2, I had a car load of lads in an '96 Corsa SRI shout at me "MR2s are sh*t!*

I just laughed at the irony.

Just ordered my tints. Limo for the rear and rear qtr windows, and obviously lighter tint for dirver/passenger window.

Rear Kit >> http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pre-Cut-Car-Win ... ndow+tints

Front Kit >> http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pre-Cut-Car-Win ... ndow+tints

So for 50 quid I`ll have a go at fitting these myself, I`ve seen it done on my old MR2 and the guy had to bin off the rear one 3 times because the curve of the glass kept screwing him up he kept going wrong! But hopefully I`ll get on ok! Professional tinting firms charge around 200 quid and I bet I will take more care over doing them because it`s MY car. :thumleft:

I personally would get them pro tinted. It's an ar$e of a job, and easy to fk up.

I've done in the past:

MR2 door glass both sides
Rear quarters
Rear screen
T bars

All looked good enough, but would have been a better job with a pro doing them.

Yeah I`ve bought them now though  I`ll have a go, I have had pro tinting jobs done 3 times, and managed to find imperfections in their work each time though nothing massively noticeable. If I mess up badly I`ll buy more until I get it perfect  Hadnt thought about tinting the t bar glass, that`s a thought... Is it going to look odd if I don`t tint the t bar glass?

Double Din to go in also. It sounds basically the same as the headunit I sold to slipping clutch, except this is double din and the last one I had was a motorised single din that popped out. I personally really wanted the look of a double din.

So hopefully I will have everything ready to sort by next weekend, turbo timer to hook back up, tints to have a go at and wire in the new headunit. I also have a cable that James has sent me for my ECU to hook to my laptop, easy just goes to the USB port but i need to download the AEM software, then he is going to talk me through tweaking a couple of bits over the phone which will save me travelling all the way down to 3S.
