G'Box oil

How much oil does a Rev3 tubby gearbox take? Need to do a change soon.

Mine took 3 bottles of MT90 so just under 3 litres.
No 2 :(

Are you sure?
Manual says that it need 4.2ltr.

That page links to the page Nic posted. 4+ litres will be for turbo. N/A will use less.

MT-90 comes in quart bottles, I believe.

A bit OT, but MR2 Rich, did you feel any difference in gear change after filling with MT-90?

I have a big problem with crunchy gears on track. For daily use it's ok, but at high rpms it's terrible...

is 75w90 redline gearbox oil ok?

The Rev3 Turbo onwards take less oil due to the LSD taking up space within the gearbox.

My gearbox was a little hard to get into gear but I think that was mainly due to the bushes on the gear linkages. It felt like a new gearbox after I changed them. I would definitely recommend changing them as well. I did the oil at the same time as the bushes so can't really say if the MT90 did much, it was more for piece of mind knowing my car has got the best oil in.
